What the club says: Benton Hall is a challenging parkland course set amongst natural woodland and rolling countryside. Renowned for its impressive views, each hole represents its own challenge, with the river Blackwater meandering through the course adding to the picture postcard views. After your round of golf, relax in the Clubhouse or on the terrace overlooking the lake with its abundance of wildlife.

Benton Hall
Hats off to Benton Hall, greens and tees are the best I have seen for a long time! The bunkers were well sanded, obviously fairways were very dry. Hospitality was excellent both in the club house and the half way house. Really enjoyable day.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course in fantastic condition, some interesting holes & a good test of your golfing skills with a good deal of water. Staff & members friendly, clubhouse also good. We ordered a small breakfast but was told they had no eggs & could choose another item to replace the eggs. We waited over an hour for our food & wasn’t that good when we got it, a staff member asked if all was ok, we told her we wasn’t pleased, she apologised saying they had some staffing issues, then as we were leaving the lady serving at the bar came over to us & gave us a full refund, which was great. We was thinking of not going back, but the course is to good for that & everyone has an off day

Mudlark
Played Saturday afternoon in light drizzle positives were the greens in good condition. The rest of the course was soaking and muddy, the grounds people must be crying. Should have been closed as will take some weeks to recover the course. Booked 18 holes but only played 9 as was not enjoying the course.Reviewer Rating

Overpriced
Good course, challenging hold Design at times. However, the green peas are too high for a course like this. I've played a number of different courses and don't see the justification for green fees this high. The greens are in good condition, the tea boxes were in decent condition. Tough rough, but nice greens
Not a long course, but an interesting layout with a stream that meanders through the course with a few ponds as well, undulating in parts. Rough is penal, so keep it straight Thought the greens were excellent very true.Reviewer Rating

Tidy track, very friendly club
Course is challenging but always interesting. A few too many tight tree lined fairways at times but very good greens and overall presentation was above average. The club and members seem very friendly, welcoming and with some nice food and drink options to round off the long and hilly walk. Well worth a go.Reviewer Rating

Benton Hall
Best greens I have played so far this year, course in very good condition for the time of year, staff at reception the bar and the half way hut were very nice and friendly. Would probably join the club if I lived nearer. Bit annoying though when your putting and a green keeper keeps mowing around the green, but didn’t spoil the day. Great condition golf course
Good solid course. Great condition and a lot of care has gone into the making and maintaining of the course.The holes are a tad short and green fees are quite high compared to courses around the area. But the condition is better here.

Courteous players
I joined Benton Hall recently but was nearly put off by the negative comments on here about pace of play and bad etiquette. These worries were totally unfounded. I played as a solo player today and was waved through by four separate three and four balls who had no real reason to do so and were all very cheery as I played my way through. Very courteous golfers. Super pleased to have chosen Benton Hall as my club, it’s a beautiful course in fine condition despite the recent heavy rainfall. The greens are fast and true, and hold perfectly with well struck approaches. Looking forward to a fine summer of golf now!Reviewer Rating

Nice layout but mind the geese
An intriguing layout with a mixture of short and long holes as well as some tight drives to manage in between trees. Course was in good condition and being well fertliised by the loca geese. Make sure you wash you shoes or cart wheels post round! Once small bugbear, prices for visitors had been hiked due to Covid-19 which seemed a little short-sighted for my personal liking(Round played: May 2020 - Score: 84 Handicap: 10.3)

nice but v busy
This is a interesting and tricky course.Greens were great when we went but fairways very dry.
I dont think they have the ability to water the fairways at all
But note, its very busy all day with lots of members and guests
Guest fees are steep and the clubhouse was closed due to covid
