Course now closed....New housing *****!
Joined Basingstoke when they bought Dummer due to the sale of their lease to the council for housing. This 100 year old James Braid course lined with fantasic specime trees is now closed (20th June 2021).(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 14)

Mature parkland course.
Mature parkland course with fast greens and intelligent bunker positions. Really enjoyed playing the course. Decent pro shop and the food in the clubhouse was great. Polite and friendly staff as well.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.9)

Good course
nice variations in the holes. practice facilities aren't bad at all. Starts off and ends with a par 5 then in the middle solid amount of 4s(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 115 Handicap: 34.3)

Classic James Braid...
Lovely course which was a challenge off the whites as the fairways were soft but not boggy. Greens were receptive and ran true with some subtle and not so subtle breaks. Pity that this course will close in 2020(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 16.3)

Parkland beauty

Greta Course in excellent condition
We played the course in the height of summer and it was in brilliant condition. For the average golfer it is challenging but is quite forgiving to the occasional errant shot. Will be returning next month to play again.Reviewer Rating

Excellent
I have been a visitor to Basingstoke Golf club for a number of years now.I played here today, the 19 April 2018 and I have to say bearing in mind the winter we have just had with the heaviest rainfall for many a year, plus lots of frost and snow, that this course is in magnificent condition so early in the season. Beautifully manicured fairways with immaculate striping plus greens that were in the main super smooth and running true made for a great round of golf.
If you are a member here then be proud of what you have got because your team have turned out a great course.
Also got to say the catering was very good with lovely choices and all very reasonably priced.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.

clubhouse and food is wonderful, course unfortunately playing temporary greens and partial winter tees, better to be played in the summer.

This parkland course was in stunning condition in the autumn sunshine. Well manicured fairways receptive greens that were slick but true to putt on. All in all a true but not overly challenging round of golf. We found the staff friendly and welcoming, truly excellent experience and we'll worth a visit. We will be back.

Club and course was brilliant. Very welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic and the course was in superb condition. Highly recommend this course to anyone.

Superb out style course, with plenty of woodland that encroaches into the course and makes it wonderful when in full bloom (a little bare when the leaves disappear). Greens were great as usual, and bunker prepared well if not pretty to look at (grey sand is very unappealing)

Excellent course that is well maintained and laid out. Greens are true and rough is kept sensible to hinder wayward shots but not slow the round down looking for your ball.

The course was in excellent condition, and had a great day. Very fussy about attire - got told off in the pro-shop for not having shirt tucked in, got told off as my deck shoes looked like trainers and friend got told off for not wearing socks with deck shoes in the clubhouse.
