What the club says: The course has proved to be a challenge for both high and low handicaps and offers spectacular views into Dovedale and the Peak District. The greens are also built to modern USGA specification.

Since the opening of the new 18-holes the course has hosted the DUGC Boys Championship and the DLCGA Country Foursomes. The Derbyshire Alliance has also resumed its close association with the club and staged numerous competitions.

Good offer for a round today, course in good condition and the greens were tricky too. Followed two four balls who were very slow eventually allowed to play through but we were waiting on nearly every hole to play our shots.

Excellent course, very hilly and picturesque. Not a long course but quite challenging due to undulation and some tight driving holes.

Although there has been a lot of rain lately the course was reasonably well drained and in good condition.

Very wet conditions and three holes closed, four other holes were borderline closable. Good, interesting course but let down by the greens which left putting a bit of a lottery. Friendly staff and worth a visit once the weather clears and the course drains

Manchester rated 3 out of 5 - Oct 18 2016

Very challenging course especially with the wind - only let down by the poor presentation of the greens - they had been recently hollow tined - thats normally not a problem until they are sanded but all greens had not been cut before hollow timing - hence putting was a joke ! Pity as this ruined what could have been an excellent visit

A lovely course with difficult greens and wandering fairways. Some very hilly parts so make sure you get a breath in before you putt out.
