Good for high handicappers

Was trying to get a cheeky round in before the rugby, and this course suited. As someone who\'s just getting back into golf, I appreciated the fairly forgiving nature of the course layout, with just enough challenges around the greens. Fairways were a bit dry but not patchy. Greens were fine.

Although the course seems to suffer a bit from being an add-on to the health club, the health club staff were very helpful. As I was finishing the 9th, a large group of about four 4-balls was starting from 1. I knew I would be hard pressed to finish another nine holes in reasonable time, and the accommodating staff offered me a rain-check for another nine holes.

Its cheap and thats it

Cheap, poor greens. fairways dried out but you get what you pay for. if you pay £10 for 9 holes you cant expect a great course

Forgiving and reasonably attractive, flat course. A tricky par 3 and two par 5s.

Yesterday, 7th January, I Teed off at about mid-day.Whilst it was dry during the nine holes played it had rained heavily the previous night. The course was therefore pretty wet and the greens showed surface water where you trod. There was one, for me, unforgivable impediment to good golf: which was the amount of saturated leaf left uncollected on the course. Also temporary teeing grounds (not mats) were of poor quality. \\Another annoying feature is being accosted by a member of the public offering sale of refurbished golf balls. This same person was subsequently to be seen on numerous occassions grubbung around for balls that had been lost on the course. Probably there is nothing the course operator can\do about it as the course is played on land where the public has right of entry.\\One good feature I saw was lessons being provided for young ( ages about 5 to 8 years ) boys and girls. I could almost forgive the downside on the course itself as this showed a real commitment to golf as a whole. I may try it again later in the year. \

Amida Golf club (David Lloyd) is a simple 9 hole golf couthattached to a sports club. The course is not very challenging at all, especially the par 5s which are very 'birdie-able' although it has its challenges. The par 3 eighth green is hard to hit, and generally all the greens are relatively small. Also, a few bunkers are quite steep and be aware of the Eisenhower esque tree in front of the 7th green, which makes hitting the green in two a challenge. The course is a site for dog walkers, so beware...The 9th is a drivable par 4 and actually very easy to dry through if you connect with it, so there's always that slim possibility of carding an eagle. The greens are in great condition, although the lack of regular markers is irritating. Also the red and yellow tees are on average about 3 yards apart, which makes the differentiation completely pointless. This course is good for a social game as the difficulty of other courses in the area is more challenging. A round of golf entitles entrance to the cafe area which unfortunately is not that exciting, although one cannot use the pitching area round the back which would seriously help you warm up. Oh...and don't chip on the practice green.........
