What the club says: Acre Gate, founded in 1974, may be unknown, but it is a hugely enjoyable 18-hole parkland course. It may be short - it stretches to 4,395-yards - but that doesn't mean you can't have some fun on the fairways. There are more than a few memorable holes to light up your round.

A small but well attended club who play on the William Wroe municipal Golf Course. The Club host a 'Roll up' every wednesday and saturday morning with their main competition day being on a Sunday morning. The club has a thriving ladies section and the hospitality inside the club is very good. The club offer a Trial membership for £25 for 3 months, and then the respective Green Fee would be paid in the ProShop on the day of your game. Equally the yearly subscription is only £89! Bargain! - Nov 7 2014

All - Acre Gate Golf Club is not to be confused with William Wroe Golf Course which is the municipal golf course which Acre Gate are based. Acre Gate Golf Club is a friendly club holding competitions every weekend for everyone from seasoned pro to complete novice. With great Club Facilities and great atmosphere I would recommend calling in for a drink when playing at William Wroe, which to be fair is playing very well at the moment (even if I'm not).

Didn't have a very good experience, the condition of the course was average at best there were several places where it felt i was walking through a bog. There were so many people playing it took a 2 ball 4 hours to finish, on nearly every hole we were waiting atleast 10 mins to tee off. The prices above are wrong, it's £14 for a weekend round. Reminded me of a pitch and put course for most holes, never got my 3 wood or my driver out.

A local municipal course, more suited to your short game. For those who hit long you'll only be using your driver on a maximum of 2-3 holes, rest of the time mid range irons. Condition was average considering the level of usage.
