What the club says: We are set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside around Selby and can offer you a complete all in one package holiday with caravan site, golf course and fishing and other activities to keep you occupied whilst staying in or around our Park. We have an 18 hole woodland golf course, 16 bay floodlit driving range that is open 7 days a week until 10pm all year round and tuition for those that need it!

August heat wave
Course still very dry with hard ground due to many months of no rain. Therefore good carry and fast greens.Still well groomed and maintained.

This is a well maintained course, providing you can consistently hit a straight ball you can enjoy success but there are lots of out of bounds area and dense woodland and undergrowth. As an average golfer it is kind of 50/50 for me. I enjoy the challenge playing the course but the 2nd and 10th tees are very difficult.

An enjoyable course to play with some challenging holes, especially the par 4 dogleg with out of bounds down the right. Good value for money and friendly staff. It was very wet when we played but many other courses would have been closed and we had an enjoyable if slightly muddy round with greens that played amazingly well given the conditions

A great little course hidden away on a farm/caravan park. The tee boxes on a few holes could be better but overall were okay. The greens were in very good condition if a little slow but once you've putted on a couple you get used to them and they run very true. The fairways were in fantastic condition and the first cut of rough is very fair (but snaggy when we played because of the constant drizzle) An open course which lets you have a go.Pace of play was a little slow but we (2 ball) were waved through on a couple of occasions and it didn't spoil our round. Would I play again, yes 100%.

Always been a budget level course and you get what you pay for
Course lacks maintenance.Tee boxes very poor, uneven, bare patches not cut
Fairways when cut acceptable but get impression greenkeepers cannot keep up and periods between cutting too long hence some fairways get to be very long
Green are cut very short and bald in areas during summer
Overall impression of course is very scruffy
Clubhouse is really geared to accommodating the integral caravan site with their dogs Golf seems to be secondary consideration

Most improved
Loved playing scalm over the last 12 months. I don’t know what has changed but it is better every time I play it. The bunkers need a bit of work but it’s a fabulous course with a great layout and can be quite forgiving apart from a few tough holes. Love the place. The people who run it are double friendly. Lovely layout

In great nick on resumption
I was very impressed with how the course was when it reopened after lockdown. Obviously anticipating being very busy the rough had been cut down substantially, but the fairways and the greens in particular were in great shape. The tees have always been the weakest point of this course but even they were pretty good. Well done to the grounds staff, great job and thanks.Reviewer Rating

Lovely little find, great value !
This is a really good value, lovely quality course which is worth the ?13.50 they charged us. Quirky interesting holes with water and probably the most OOB I've seen on a course. Having said that it makes for a fun day out with some very open east holes mixed with some tricky thinking holes. Looks a bit weird when you arrive on-site, but when you find the golf but at the back you will be pleasantly surprised. Halfway house too which is always a bonus. I would say if you're local give it a go, it's not one you?d drive an hour to try but if in the area have a go and you won't be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Pleasantly Surprised
Nephew booked round. Was bit sceptical as only used range before and with the rain we had thought would be very wet and hard going. Not at all, majority of greens in excellent condition. The team works very hard to keep the course in good condition. The greens and fairways are always very good, the tees less so, being a bit rough and the grass too long. The rough is challenging so straight hitting is rewarded.
