The Mendip Golf Club- On Course for a Great Summer!

The Mendip Golf Club is in position for a fantastic 2012. Coursework has continued throughout the Winter Months to present the Golf Course in fantastic order for both Members and visitors to play socially or take part in our packed calendar of events.

Richard Flower and his team of Green staff have been busy working on the course with development of the 11^th tee and an introduction of a Medal tee on the Par five 4^th hole. Both projects aim to further enhance the 6400 yard, Par 71 course which Golf Monthly Magazine recently quoted ‘ The course can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer. There are few that offer such far-reaching views over seven counties, and you will find it hard not to enjoy the beautiful walk followed by the tasty and well-priced refreshments in the clubhouse’

The Course  continues to improve with help from Member and Head of Greens Richard Jeffery who has arranged a ‘ Divoting Day ‘ for the Members to participate in next Month. Richard comments “This just shows how harmoniously both the Members and staff are working together to keep our course the best in the area”.

2012 promises to be a tremendous year for Mendip Golf Club and we already have 70 new members signed up for the new season. Rob Needham, our Chairman, summarises the reasons:

“We are well on line to making record profits this year which, as a member’s club, have already been reinvested in extra land , a new patio and renovations to our changing rooms.  The new practice facilities will be open this summer , which will enable our excellent pros to develop a “Newcomers to Golf” programme, which should attract even more new beginners and juniors.
