Accommodation

Steigenberger boasts 268 bespoke rooms and 58 suites to cater for all budgets and group sizes.

Award-winning architect Michael Graves designed the resort to provide a modern feel with Nubian touches evident throughout. Dining options and bars are plentiful, offering guests a mixture of traditional and international cuisines, suited to everyone’s needs.

The Steigenberger Suite offers a luxurious family experience, with a separate living room and beds to accommodate up to four adults as well as two sofa beds. Restaurant & Bars

The Fairways restaurant is a popular themed buffet that offers breakfast and a dinner buffet, sit outside and take in the views of the lagoon and look out to the Red Sea Mountains. Restaurant La Rotisserie provides international specialties in a relaxed environment that looks onto the chipping green. The unique Harumaki Restaurant is an Asian dining experience with iconic Japanese dishes, or grab some light bights at the Lagoon Terrasse.

Location

Steigenberger Golf Resort El Gouna is located in the beautiful region of Hurghada. For many decades it was a small fishing village, but it has grown into a major Red Sea resort known for its waterspouts, nightlife and great weather.

Daytime temperatures are around 35 °C (95 °F) most of the year, and during July and August temperatures can reach over 46 °C (115 °F). 

Hurghada extends for about 22 miles along the coast, but does not reach far into the surrounding desert. The resort is a popular destination for package holiday tourists from Europe.

Many of Hurghada's newer hotels, restaurants, and shops are located along El Mamsha. Most of the largest hotel resorts are located in the area between Mamsha and Sahl Hasheesh on El Mamsha. Beyond Sahl Hasheesh there are the hotels of Makadi Bay. Dahar is the oldest part of the town, where the traditional bazaar is located.

Golf

El Gouna Golf Club is a championship course known for its well-manicured greens and pristine fairways along with fabulous views of the Red Sea Mountains. Designed by Gene Bates and former Masters champion Fred Couples, the course offers a challenge for golfers of all abilities as well as modern practice facilities to warm up before you tee off or fix things post-round.

The club offers fabulous practice facilities with an Aqua Driving Range, practice area, chipping area and putting greens so you can tune in your game before starting your round. 

The golf club also boasts a fully stocked Pro Shop with all the latest brands and El Gouna branded gear. Additionally, there is the Bistro Bar and a la carte restaurant so you are never short on food and drinks options.

The par 72 track measures 6,269 metres with six different tee options. The course prides itself on its quick greens which run fair, keeping it in great condition all year round. When playing the championship course you will find water hazards from the lagoons on most holes, meaning accuracy off the tee is essential. The course also boasts picturesque views of the Red Sea Mountains.

When the wind picks up off the Red Sea it can impose a challenge, however if you are tight and compact with your game, you will be able to get lots of birdie opportunities.

Throughout your game of golf here you will also find strategically placed yellow sand bunkers and desert-style rough, perfect for a great Egypt golf holiday.

The signature hole is the 17th, a winding par five which measures 526 yards. Requiring accuracy off the tee and often a lay-up while trying to not drift right toward the lagoon waters.
