Must Play: Charity Golf For Life

Golf for Life 2010 is being run in support of Swanwick Relay for Life, a Derbyshire charity that has raised over £60,000 for Cancer Research UK in the last three years.
The event will be held on Saturday July 17th 2010 at Grassmoor Golf Centre , near Chesterfield in Derbyshire. The course is in an excellent location and is easily accessible from Junction 29 of the M1 motorway. For many it will be a chance to experience some of Grassmoor’s “new” holes as the course has undergone some extensive remodeling over the last couple of years.
The competition will be an individual one, played over 18 holes using the stableford scoring system. There will be prizes for first, second and third places, as well as longest drive and nearest the pins. As with our 2009 event, we will be holding a raffle and running a putting competition and there will be a few other surprises along the way!
Prize list at 12th April 2010:
- Trophies for first, second and third place (most stableford points)
- Longest drive trophy
- Nearest the pin prizes on 4 holes.

Golf for Life 2010 doesn’t just finish with the golf. In the evening world-renowned golf trick shot expert Jeremy Dale will be entertaining us with his own unique brand of golf. All Golfshake members and their families are invited to attend this event which is scheduled to start at 7.30pm, so, even if you’re not playing in the event, please feel free to come and join us for a drink and watch this amazing show! Jeremy will also be available on the 10th tee throughout the day inviting players to “buy his drive for a fiver”.
The cost of entry into our event is £29.50 per player. This includes coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, refreshments after 9 holes, a presentation ceremony afterwards and the Jeremy Dale Golf show.
