
European Tour Player Matt Southgate wins back to back on the TP Tour
25 year old European Tour player Matt Southgate has found his form on the TP Tour – Winnng the past two 18 hole tournaments convincingly, by a margin of four shots and five shots – which is unprecedented on the TP Tour.
The Essex based Professional, from Thorpe Hall Golf Club, shot a superb round of 65 at Royal St George’s to win on the 24th April.
He would have emulated Greg Norman’s final round 64 in the 1993 Open, but for a bogey on the last.

A super confident Southgate then shot an incredible round of 62 at Worplesdon, containing six birdies and two eagles on 1st May, to win by 4 from Adam Gee.
This tremendous run by Southgate now puts him in fourth position in the TP Order of Merit, behind new leader Ben Storey from Woburn.
The TP Tour is Open to all Professionals.
