Karrie Webb is First to Win with 'Hydro Core' Balls

By: Golf Shake | Thu 20 Feb 2014

karrie webb wins with hyro core ballsKarrie Webb played Bridgestone Golf’s new TOUR B330-RX ball with Hydro Core technology to earn her fifth Australian Open title at Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia last weekend. It is the first worldwide Tour victory for the new B-Series ball launched just last month.

The latest win on her home soil is Webb’s 40th victory of her Hall of Fame, LPGA career. “When the course conditions got harder and the pressure was on, I fully trusted the performance of the new B330-RX from tee to green,” said Webb. “The ball performed amazingly well in strong gusty winds and I also was able to play some of the most delicate of short game shots around the green.”

Paula Creamer, who also played the new B330-RX ball, posted a final round 68 and earned a tie for third in the event. “Both Karrie and Paula tied for the lowest final round in windy conditions when most of the field was faltering,” said Aki Shimizu, CEO of Bridgestone Golf UK. “It speaks volumes about the performance of the new B330-RX ball with Hydro Core technology and the confidence our talented Tour team has playing it,” he added.

The ground-breaking Hydro Core technology produces 30% more graduation in the formulation around the inner and outer areas of the core – producing a softer centre, but a firmer outer region. The result is less spin off the driver face for greater distance and accuracy, whatever the golfer’s swing speed or ability to compress the ball.
