De Vere Venues East Sussex National to Host 2014 ESGA Event

De Vere Venues have announced that the East Sussex National Resort and Golf Club in Uckfield, East Sussex has been chosen to host the prestigious ESGA European Masters Championship between the 20th – 22nd August 2014.

The top 12 seniors, each over the age of 70, from 22 countries world-wide will descend upon the luxury golf resort, chosen for its two impressive championship courses, to compete for the European Masters title during the three day event.

The ESGA title is currently held by Spain, however playing on home territory, the UK has high hopes to wrestle back the honour, led by Roy Smethurst from Crewe Golf Club.

Nestled within 1,110 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, the East Sussex National’s two championship standard golf courses, were each designed by Robert E Cupp; The East Course which features a 7,081 yard stadium style layout and has played host to a raft of events and tournaments, and the picturesque, 72 par North Course, which winds around the woodland grounds of the resort.

In addition, the multi-facility complex features over 100 bedrooms, all with great views over the grounds and golf courses, in addition to versatile conferencing facilities with capacity for between 8 and 400 guests across 10 meeting and conference spaces,  catering for corporate and leisure events both large and small. The venue also boasts the Horsted Health Club & Spa, with a range of relaxation and therapy rooms, luxury pool and high tech gym facilities.
