De Vere Venues East Sussex National Celebrates Official Launch in Spectacular Style

By: Golf Shake | Wed 09 Oct 2013

de vere east sussexDe Vere Venues, the UK’s premier provider of conference, meeting and event space celebrated the official launch of the East Sussex National on Thursday 3rd October, with a spectacular party for key clients, local businesses and media.

The action packed launch event, which saw over 250 guests attend the stunning venue, kicked off on Thursday morning as attendees arrived for a full day of De Vere Venues’ unrivalled hospitality, enjoying a friendly game of golf on the world championship course, which has in the past been played by sporting legends such as Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomery. Adding an element of competition to the proceedings, clients, including AXA PPP Healthcare, wealth management company St James Place and regional charity Demelza House Hospice took part in a ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Nearest the Pin’ contest, with winners to be announced later in the evening by special guest, Tony Dangerfield, De Vere Venues Chief Executive Officer.

For those looking to experience a more laid back start to the day, beauty therapists at the on-site Horsted Spa and Health Club were on hand, providing a range of relaxing treatments, including express facials, manicures and massages, ensuring they were pampered and prepared for the launch party later in the evening.

In true De Vere Venues style, the evening entertainment had to be seen to be believed as a fresh wave of party-goers descended upon the East Sussex National via the VIP red carpet, greeted by Showgirl Dancers, ready to get the party started.

Following welcome drinks and canapés, which included locally sourced Sussex Brie served on a Garlic Crouton and the infamous Sussex Pond Pudding, the East Sussex National sales team showcased the sprawling 104 bedroom hotel and its conferencing facilities, whilst guests enjoyed a decadent cheese station, wine-menu tasting and quick round of urban golf on the second floor, before receiving a welcome speech from Darren Patt, Managing Director of Development, De Vere Venues.

Darren told the gathered crowd; ‘’As you can see, East Sussex National  is located in a superb rural location with stunning views over the South Downs and surrounding countryside, offering leisure guests and business delegates alike unrivalled hotel, golf and conferencing facilities in the region.’’

‘’The addition of East Sussex National to the De Vere Venues portfolio is a signal of our on-going growth and expansion plans, and we are  delighted to be working with the team here, all of whom have played a part in making tonight such a great success.’’

As night fell, revellers continued the celebrations in the National Suite, the venue’s largest event space, snacking on traditional suet pudding, traditional mini-roast dinners complete with braised local cabbage and roast beef, and a range of decadent puddings, whilst professional dancers sashayed across the dance floor to the sound of the iconic Wurlitzer Organ, one of the only originals left in the UK, which has a permanent home at the East Sussex National. A casino area provided some high-octane entertainment, as guests played against each other on the roulette table.

As the festivities drew to a close, a late night supper was served in the stunning lounge area over-looking the golf course, before guests enjoyed an overnight stay courtesy of De Vere Venues East Sussex National.
