Mid Amateur Golf Tour 2013 Schedule

By: Golf Shake | Mon 03 Dec 2012

The Mid Amateur Golf have announced the schedule for the 2013 season that starts with a 36 hole event at the Nick Faldo designed Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent.

The schedule for 2013 includes events at Chart Hills, Hunstanton, West Lancashire, Doonbeg, Lahinch, Turnberry, Machynys Peninsula, Sunningdale, Hankley Common, Liphook, Porters Park, Berkhamsted, Royal Cinque Ports, Hollinwell, Old Fold Manor, South Herts, Farnham, Hindhead, Wellingborough and many more with the events at Machynys Peninsula and Turnberry being part of the R&A & USGA World Amateur Ranking for 2013. (WAGR)

“Following on from the success of our first full year in 2012, the launch of the dedicated web site at www.midamgolf.co.uk and also the Mid Amateur Golf Order of Merit, we feel we can now add a number of new events at new courses for 2013. We are holding both the Welsh and Scottish events again and we hope that the 54 hole events at Turnberry and Machynys will once again attract an international field as they did this year.”  commented Jason Morris, Director of Golf at Mid Amateur Golf.

The Mid Amateur Golf Tour is open to any male golfer aged 35 years or over on the day of play and anyone with an active CONGU handicap can enter to play.  There is no ballot system with the events that are run by Mid Amateur Golf – they are on a first come first served basis which allows everyone the opportunity to enter and play in the events.  You do not need to be a member of the tour but only tour members can win the order or merit and also claim discounts off the entry fees.

“We run our own events as first come first served so we can open up the fields to players who might normally get balloted out of some of the more established events such as Sunningdale where the ballot is normally 1.4 or lower.  The Logan (English Mid Amateur) normally has a ballot around the 5 handicap mark effectively ruling out a large number of players.  Our Scottish and Welsh Mid Amateur Championships are open to enter now so you can grab a place if you are quick!” Added Jason.

There is also an event in 2013 for players with handicaps from 6 to 18, details of which can be found on the dedicated web site www.midamgolf.co.uk.

Players can register for the tour and order of merit at www.midamgolf.co.uk.
