Persistence for Parnham Provides Partastic Win

By: Darren Ramowski | Tue 24 Jul 2012

Persistence has paid off for Lee Parnham, a regular on the Gtour since 2009.

Gtour Lee ParnhamLee Parnham, who has played in 22 events in the last 4 seasons since the Gtour's inception, secured his first tour win in last weekend's Gtour event at De Vere Mottram Hall.

Despite several top finishes Parnham had never secured a win but took full advantage of the near perfect conditions on the championship course this weekend, Parnham said "I new it was there somewhere and my gameplan for the day was to try to make my score on the front nine, I new from previous years that the back nine was a whole different beast. Luckily I held my own on the back nine too"

Having secured a 4th place in the overall 2012 Race to Cyprus Order of Merit Lee will be looking to capitalise on this recent victory and post another good round in one of the tours remaining 4 events. Those close to the top of the leader board are well aware that there is only one direct qualify place to this years Grand Final at Aphrodite Hills Resort Cyprus and those who just miss will have to fight it out with the other 51 Semi Finalists for one of the 10 Grand Final places.

Asked about his time on the Gtour Lee said "I'm not a club member, I found the Gtour a better option for my situation right now as I don't have time to play a lot due to work commitments. The Gtour is a perfect way to play competitive golf on great courses at a price that I consider excellent value for money. The fact that I have finally won in my 22nd event is just a bonus, a very welcome bonus and one to which I hope I can add.

The Gtour now moves south to De Vere Wokefield Park in Surrey on Saturday the 4th of August before returning to North for events at Moor Allerton Golf Club and Oulton Hall later this month.
