John Letters Staff Player Chris Hanson Wins PGA Europro Order of Merit

John Letters, Scotland’s finest clubmakers since 1918, is celebrating after staff professional Chris Hanson recorded yet another top 10 finish at the Tour Championships to land the coveted PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit Title.

Hanson, who had already booked his place on next seasons Challenge Tour going into the final Europro event of the season, shot rounds of 70, 67 and 66 for a -10 under par total to finish tied 10th and land the prestigious Order of Merit Title by over £8,500 from his nearest competitor.

It was double delight for Letters as Hanson also pledged his future to the brand claiming: “The decision to re-sign with John Letters for the 2012 season has been the easiest decision of the year!”

In his fourth year as a John Letters staff professional, Hanson has celebrated his most successful season on tour. With three victories including Bovey Castle, Galgorm Castle and most recently at Mottram Hall in Cheshire, winning by a 7 shot margin, Hanson has also recorded nine other top ten finishes making him the most consistent player on the PGA Europro Tour in 2011.

Hanson, commented: “Since changing to the John Letters Master Model irons back in Christmas 2010 I have had my most successful season to-date. My level of consistency has to be put down to the outstanding distance control I have been achieving with the new Master Model irons and that has helped me towards my nine top ten finishes on the Europro Tour and my total of 10 wins throughout the UK this season”.

With a Challenge tour card already in the bag, Hanson is already looking forward and aiming to improve his category, if not secure full European Tour playing privileges, at European Tour Qualifying School in seven weeks time.
