Golf Pro Chooses His Top 5 Drivers of 2026

There are so many new drivers on the market that it can feel somewhat overwhelming to peruse through the shelves to find the right club for your game.

Where should you start? Ultimately, it's essential to be fitted and to know the specifications that you require, as drivers these days are separated into different categories that have been engineered to suit a variety of players.

The best driver for someone else isn't necessarily the ideal model for you.

Having tested and reviewed a vast range of products, Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall is a good man to ask, but his skill and technique is far beyond that of the average golfer, so what works for him doesn't apply for many of us.

However, it's nonetheless a fascinating exercise, and Ryan has compared five of his favourite drivers from the past 12 months, across a handful of brands, with the prerequisite being that these were the clubs that he has hit the best.

But how do they measure up to each other? Ryan has used Trackman to hit them in a lengthy, but informative indoor session, where he saw the various numbers head-to-head in terms of ball speed, launch, spin, carry distance, total distance, and dispersion.

These are the drivers in 2026 chosen by a golf pro that best suit his game - but which does he favour above the rest? You can find out that answer - and consume his various insights - by watching the video below.

Wilson DYNAPWR Carbon

Going back a year ago, this was a driver that massively impressed Ryan. It's fully adjustable, with the head incorporating a six-way adjustable hosel and interchangeable weight, while advanced Topology Optimisation refined the acoustic engineering to deliver a perfectly crafted sound.

What Ryan Says: "Absolutely love this driver. When I got fitted for it, in about November 2024 when we first saw it up at Dundonald, very, very good. Feels great, sounds awesome, I just think Wilson drivers are so underrated."

TaylorMade Qi4D

Part of TaylorMade's new family in 2026, the carbon face is the big appeal of the Qi4D, with that material more efficiently producing speed than what you could anticipate from a titanium face. Ryan has reviewed these drivers for us and even compared them with the previous Qi35.

What Ryan Says: "Sits great behind the ball, is quite confidence inspiring, nice, big head. It sounds so powerful. This driver is extremely forgiving as well as quick when we've tried and tested it."

Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max

Ryan was hugely surprised by the new Callaway Quantum family - as he explains here. What makes these stand out is the Tri-Force Face that has been designed to provide you with exceptional speed and distance. This has been made possible by successfully layering three materials - Titanium, Poly Mesh, and Carbon Fiber - into a fully integrated speed system, but is Quantum better than TaylorMade's Qi4D?

What Ryan Says: "Feels very different to the others because of this Tri-Force Face. It's not quite the same as carbon, but it's definitely not titanium. The three-layer story that Callaway have got going does make this driver kind of standalone in terms of its feel, but very, very good."

Titleist GT3

Titleist GT3

This was another big favourite of 2025. GT3 was designed for those golfers who want to maximise distance and optimise their ball flight. This driver was carefully honed to offer the ultimate in speed and control.

What Ryan Says: "Exceptional driver when we tested it last year. Love the look of it. Very traditional in its shape and look. Probably as good a driver that Titleist have brought out for a long, long time. Just sits beautiful and looks how a golf purist wants a driver to look."

Cobra OPTM LS

Cobrs OPTM LS

The four new OPTM drivers from Cobra were all reviewed by Ryan, who was impressed by the technology, including POI (Product of Inertia) Shaping, Adaptive POI Weighting, H.O.T. Face and FUTUREFIT33, but it was the LS model that best meshed together with his game.

What Ryan Says: "I always have the most fun testing Cobra products because it's so quick. I tend to get ridiculous ball speeds with a lot of their drivers and this one, with that compact head, should move the fastest through the air. Feels very, very solid off the head as well, really quick."

Now you've met the contenders, let's discover which of them takes the prize!
