Why the new Callaway Quantum drivers surprised us

Callaway has new drivers for the 2026 season as part of their intriguing Quantum family, which have been crafted to deliver heightened levels of performance across the board to offer something tantalising for all golfers.

There are several different options to choose from that will suit a vast spectrum of players, including the most forgiving model to the product ideally matched up to the world's best, but which of them is the most likely to mesh with your game?

New Callaway Quantum Drivers

Golfers who deploy a Quantum driver will benefit from the revolutionary Tri-Force Face that has been designed to provide you with exceptional speed and distance. This has been made possible by the fact that Tri-Force successfully layers three materials - Titanium, Poly Mesh, and Carbon Fiber - into a fully integrated speed system.

Breaking it down, the ultra-thin, high-strength Titanium is designed for pure speed, the Poly Mesh is a military-grade polymer that binds the layers together, and Carbon Fiber reinforces the face structure, which allows for greater flex.

Every portion of the face has been precisely tuned using Callaway’s next-generation Ai modelling, which ensures that you can benefit from optimised speed, launch and spin consistency based on real player data.

Golfshake's Ryan Rastall has tested and reviewed four of the drivers: Quantum Max-D, Quantum Max, Quantum Triple Diamond, and Quantum Triple Diamond Max. Using Trackman for analysis, Ryan explains the key differences in terms of setup and weighting and shares his insights behind the numbers, including ball speed, launch, spin, carry and dispersion.

Ryan tests the Callaway Quantum drivers using the Project X EvenFlow White T1100 shaft with a 9° head adjusted down to 8°, set to a neutral face to optimise his personal setup. While reminding everyone of the importance of getting fitted before buying a new driver, he can helpfully point you in the right direction.
