FootJoy Release Impressive 2010 Figures
FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, once again recorded high market shares within the UK golf shoe market in 2010. According to the most recent Golf Datatech UK retail audit, FootJoy dominated the 2010 volume brand share with 56.3%, up 1.5% year on year and way ahead of the next brand with just 14.6%.
Such is the strength and depth of its product line-up, FootJoy shoes are also dominant in the breakdown of total unit model share sales in 2010, with the top four and six of the top eight coming from the FootJoy portfolio. The AQL remains the nation’s favourite golf shoe with 15.2% of the market, followed by the ever popular Contour Series with 7.6%. The top eight is as follows:
1. FootJoy AQL (15.2%)
2. FootJoy Contour Series (7.6%)
3. FootJoy GreenJoys (7.2%)
4. FootJoy DryJoys (7.1%)
5. Competitor Model A (5.1%)
6. Competitor Model B (4.8%)
7. FootJoy FJ SPORT (3.1%)
8. FootJoy LoPro Collection (2.7%)
The continued popularity of the AQL has seen this range alone sell more units than the nearest competitor brand’s total sales across all of its models in 2010 (AQL 15.2% v Competitor Brand all models 14.6%).
FootJoy’s market share is even stronger when analysing the money spent on golf shoes rather than volume. The ‘value’ market share for 2010 was 59.6% also up 1.5% on the previous year. These ever-improving market share figures underline FootJoy’s unquestionable strength in depth and broad appeal as Mike Lucas, Director of Sales and Marketing explains, “Every FJ shoe meets a need in the market place and contributes to the high demand for our products across the board. From the top of the range FJ ICON and DryJoys Tour through to the contemporary FJ SPORT and best selling AQL we have ’best in class’ products to offer golfers of all ages, abilities, budgets and tastes”.
On the back of a hugely successful 2010 and with the new DryJoys Tour set to give the DryJoys microbrand fresh impetus this year plus a whole raft of updated styles in the best selling models hitting the shelves in the Spring, FootJoy looks set for another successful year in 2011.
