England's Charley Hull secured her first victory on the LPGA Tour since 2022 in dramatic fashion at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G.

Battling throughout a tense Sunday against world number one Jeeno Thitikul, Hull was one shot back of the Thai golfer on the final tee, a closing par 5. Both players found the green in two, but it was Thitikul who shockingly four-putted for bogey, handing the title to the 29-year-old from Kettering.

"I just thought I had to make the eagle to be fair. I wasn't really watching her putt for birdie because I thought she was going to hole it," Hull said. "I guess it's not over until the fat lady sings, but I was shaking over that last putt because I just didn't expect it. But feels pretty good."

"It feels good," added Hull. "Plenty of second-place finishes in the last few years and even in the last couple weeks coming from the British Open, and then last week finished second on the Ladies European Tour, and then to get the win, it feels pretty good."

Looking ahead to the remainder of the season, Hull commented: "I'm buzzing. Got the International Crown coming up and Korea and then The ANNIKA and Tour Championship. I've won round that Tour Championship course before, so I'm buzzing to go out there and play a bit of golf. Not too much because I'm still managing my ankle and that.

"I feel like now I know I can do it. It's been a bit of a drought. I've had quite a few second-place finishes, and it's just always been the bridesmaid, and now I'm the bride finally."

Lottie Woad has become the shining star of English golf, and the 21-year-old finished in third place, a shot behind Thitikul, with Women's Open champion Miyu Yamashita in fourth.

Who is Charley Hull?

Born in Kettering in 1996, Hull was a child prodigy, producing impressive results and shooting wonderful scores from an early age, ultimately turning professional in 2013 and making her Solheim Cup debut that same year.

Hull has now played in seven editions of the Solheim Cup, being part of three winning teams, and has won four times on the Ladies European Tour.

This latest triumph is her third victory on the LPGA Tour, with the biggest easily being the CME Group Tour Championship in 2016. Always exciting to watch, her aggressive style of play should have yielded more wins, but her results in the majors have shown just how gifted a player Hull is.

Her runner-up finish in the AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl this summer was the fourth of her career in a major, having already played in 60 of the biggest events in the game.
