Druh Belts sign up World Number One
Druh Belts & Buckles has signed up golf’s hottest star, world number one Lee Westwood, as a brand ambassador reinforcing the perception that the stylish belt range is the ‘Choice of Champions’ for golfers around the world.
The 37-year-old Englishman, who ousted Tiger Woods from the top spot in October last year, will be seen wearing Druh this season as he joins Sweden’s number one Robert Karlsson, superhero Thongchai Jaidee, ranked one in Thailand, and Chinese number one Liang Wen-chong as a Druh ambassador.
That Westwood and these number one players wear Druh Belts & Buckles is fitting as the brand is the number one belt of choice on both The European and Asian Tours.
“I am delighted to be joining the Druh stable of ambassadors as I am a huge fan of the belts. I like to look smart, professional and well-coordinated when playing golf and wearing a Druh belt helps me achieve that as they have a fantastic variety of colours, from funky to traditional, as well as huge range of interchangeable ‘db’ buckles,” says Westwood, who will be playing most of his golf on The European Tour in 2011 with forays to the US and Asia throughout the year.
As a 20-time winner on the European Tour, a vital member of the European Team for the 2010 Ryder Cup and a truly global traveller, Westwood is the perfect ambassador for the Druh Belts & Buckles range.
“Druh is obviously extremely pleased and proud to have been selected as the belt of choice by the world’s number one golfer, Lee Westwood,” comments Alec Pettigrew, director of Druh Belts & Buckles.
“We all know that looking and feeling good on the golf course is important and hope that in choosing Druh belts to complement his style of dress, Lee will continue to excel on the golf course and maintain his position at the top of the world rankings. We wish him the very best for the forthcoming season.”
The omens are certainly good given that Druh celebrated more than a dozen prestigious tournament wins around the world in 2010 where the winners have been wearing one of their distinctive belts.
The roll call of champions for the year includes Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn who won the Golf Estoril Open de Portugal in June, Sophie Gustafson who secured the Ladies Irish Open in August, England’s Gary Wolstenholme who recorded a wire-to-wire victory in September at the Casa Serena Open, South Korean Jimin Kang who took the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia title in October, Swede Rikard Karlberg who won the Indian Open at the Delhi Golf Club and Thongchai Jaidee who claimed the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open in December, and Robert Karlsson who secured two victories, the Qatar Masters and the Dubai World Championship at the start and finish of the year.
Offering the discerning golfer a range of belts in sumptuous classic and chic casual styles, Druh Belts & Buckles have quickly become the golf professionals’ style secret. The range is handmade in leather and water snakeskin, in vibrant colours from turquoise to pink, yellow to red, purple to green and in variety of embossed styles from crocodile to ostrich effect. Each belt purchased comes with your choice of Druh buckle and a standard ‘db’ buckle that is easily interchangeable. The buckles are produced in brushed nickel, polished silver or gold with some featuring sparkling diamante, bright enamel and flower motifs especially for the ladies.
