Wilson Cortex Driver Interview and Test

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 05 Feb 2019

Could you imagine designing your own driver concept and seeing that vision fulfilled and become a reality? Well, that was the experience of Evan Hoffman, whose Cortex won Season 2 of Driver vs Driver, a series produced by Wilson Golf and the Golf Channel, being awarded a $250,000 cash prize and seeing his driver produced and released onto the market.

When completed, Cortex was the most adjustable driver that Wilson has released, which Evan evolved from his original creation by collaborating with Wilson LABS - the brand's design hub - to hone and perfect the design during a 18-month process that encompassed the reality TV show.

From hundreds of submissions, 14 finalists made it through to the latter stages and were whittled down one-by-one from the input of a judging panel comprising of Wilson Golf President Tim Clarke, NHL legend and avid golfer Jeremy Roenick, and YouTube golf personality Rick Shiels. In the face of stiff and impressive competition, Evan's Cortex was the victor.

During the recent PGA Merchandise Show, Golfshake's Ryan Rastall had the chance to meet Evan and hear about his journey, from the initial drawings of the driver to the product that has been released at retail. Ryan, impressed by the look, also took the opportunity to try the Cortex for himself on the range. You can see that interview and testing session, below.
