Royal Mid Surrey Establishes Associate Member Waiting List Due to Popular Demand

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 05 Sep 2018

Due to popular demand, historic Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond, south-west London, has established a waiting list for golfers under the age of 30 looking to become Associate Members.

Associate Members aged 19-29 are offered an affordable means of joining the Club and enjoy full playing rights and access to the Club’s two 18-hole courses.

“There has been a very encouraging increase in our Associate membership in the past nine months, with 43 new Associates joining the Club,” said Chairman Chris Holt. “Of the total 120 that we set as a limit for Associate members, 28 are Category 1 handicap players.” he added.

Royal Mid-Surrey Feature Review

Royal Mid-Surrey, which celebrated its 125th anniversary last year, has an overall Membership of 1,300, including more than 360 lady members – one of the largest ladies’ sections in the country.

“We are delighted to have so many accomplished golfers wanting to join Royal Mid-Surrey and the investment we made in celebrating our 125th anniversary clearly made a favourable impression on many people visiting the Club,” said Holt.

“In addition to the number of quality players now on the Associate Members waiting list, we have an Ordinary Membership quota that is close to capacity with just a small number of places remaining,” he added.

The popular London club has recently refurbished its practice area and driving range, while the Pro Shop has had an extensive refit.
