Top Prizes to be Won at Direct Golf's Open House

Daily prizes will be up for grabs just down the road from Royal Liverpool GC during Open week as Direct Golf UK, Europe's award winning and leading multi-channel specialist golf retailer, hosts a free long-drive competition at a nearby bar.

Britain's favourite golf retailer will be offering up daily prizes as part of its temporary residency at The Wro, an award-winning bar and restaurant, less than a mile from the Open venue. Recently awarded the title of Merseyside Bar of the Year, for the third time, The Wro sits within a minute's walk from West Kirby train station, on the road to Hoylake, and Direct Golf, in association with TaylorMade's ‘Loft Up' campaign and Your Golf Travel, will be hosting daily long-drive competitions.

And the first 100 customers to take part in the long-drive competition every day will receive a FREE TaylorMade Loft Up cap. TaylorMade's qualified fitting technicians will also be on hand to help golfers increase their yardage by custom fitting them into the correct specification.

One person definitely looking for a cool drink at The Wro will be John Andrew, the owner and founder of Direct Golf, who is leading a team of staff to the Open championship … by bike. They are setting off from the company headquarters in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on Sunday, July 13 and arriving at Royal Liverpool GC at around 4pm the following afternoon.

The two-day ride will raise funds for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, a charity close to Andrew's heart and one for which he has raised funds previously.
