Troon Attend HSBC Golf Business Forum - From Desert to Desert

By: Golf Shake | Thu 01 May 2014

troonTroon's growing international influence will be on show at HSBC Golf Business Forum and its inaugural International Conference.

Troon will travel from its headquarters in the Arizona desert to similar surroundings this week, as it takes part in the HSBC Golf Business Forum in Abu Dhabi. Its team of senior executives making the desert-to-desert journey, including company founder and CEO, Dana Garmany, will further acknowledge the growing international influence of its Middle East portfolio by also hosting Troon’s inaugural conference for EMEA and APAC key Executives and Managers at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, one of its Championship properties in the region.

Troon's surging global influence spans some of the world's most unique terrains and climates across 28 countries. Since its inception at Troon North, Scottsdale, Ariz., the business has experienced a meteoric rise on an international scale. Owners and developers readily acknowledge the award-winning service and professionalism the name Troon represents, as well as its ability to deliver strong ROI's.

Commenting on his excitement about experiencing first-hand the revered hospitality of the leading properties in the region, Dana Garmany, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Troon, remarked: “Abu Dhabi is without doubt one of the golf world’s burgeoning destinations. We hear regular reports from the team in the Middle East office on its continued growth and our consumer feedback for conditioning, hospitality and service are among the very best in our business.”

Named by both Golf Inc. and Golf Digest as one of the most influential people in golf, Garmany continued: "Our inaugural International Conference will give us a great chance to gather as a group of professionals and discuss topics at the heart of our businesses’ future and developments in the game of golf. The Golf Business Forum also presents an opportunity to share our insight on global trends and debate the good, the bad and the ugly.”

The Troon-managed Abu Dhabi Golf Club will play a key role in hosting the Troon International Conference, as well as providing the scenic backdrop for the HSBC Golf Business Forum. Central figures from Troon’s Middle East office are accustomed to welcoming the world's best golfers for high-profile events, with next week just as significant on the Troon calendar.

“This is a landmark occasion for Troon and it is a privilege to host our fellow colleagues in Abu Dhabi,” remarked Mark Chapleski, Area Managing Director and Vice-President, Troon Golf Middle East. “We have such a widespread portfolio internationally, we had to expand on our conference itinerary to accommodate our global footprint and Abu Dhabi will be a first-class host.”

Troon’s senior management will play their part in sharing views on the current golf landscape during the HSBC Golf Business Forum, with Garmany, Jon Easterbrook, Executive Vice President, Troon Operations and Bruce Glasco, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Troon International Operations, participating in panel discussions covering golf-centric topics with the integration of non-golf industry experiences and technology.
