Getting Out of The Rough - Links Tips Series

For many golfers we often find outselves off the fairway and inparticular with links golf this can be trouble.  In this video Golfshake resident Pro and Howley Hall Head Professional Ryan Rastall offers some tips to improve your chances of getting out and back on to the playing surface.

Firstly, don’t try and do too much and focus on just getting the ball out and back in play when you find your ball in the longer wispy rough often found on links golf courses.  Ensure you don’t take too much club. Get steeper into the ball and hit down.  The wispy grass may grab the hosel of the club and turn over the face which will see your shots go left.  Focus on getting your hand and wrists through the shot by firming your hands as well.  You will also need to remember the spin will be different and the ball will often go left.
