Golfshake Review

The Powakaddy FW5 has proved super popular over the past few years and has had a makeover in 2017. The updates on mainly subltle, but we thought it was well worth putting the 2017 FW5i to the test on the course.

Looks

This is a stunner of a trolley! I really like the white finish and the signature 'Powakaddy Yellow' trim. The company have come a long way in recent years, making huge improvements to the way thei range of trolleys look and the FW5i is right on the top of the pile in my book.

Usbality

The FW5i is super simple to use and has some nice touches aver and above the some the lower price points. While it offers a the glossy fully colour display, USB charging port and battery indicator it is the Powakaddy folding mechanism, and lithium plag and play battery that really set the trolley apart in the usability stakes.

Powakaddy have refined the folding mechanisn to a point where it is super intuative and very easy to do and having a lithium battery makes a huge difference to the usablity of any trolley, but the plug and play system is especially usable.

Pros

As mentioned above the big pros come with usablity! There are some nice touches as well such as a 5 year warranty on the lithium battery, the full colour display and a USB charging port for your phone or GPS.

Cons

It is more expensive than some on the market and £599 with a lithium battery it is not cheapest golfing outlay you will ever make.

The Bottom Line

You pay for what you get with Powakaddy, the company has created some brilliant trolleys over the past few years and the FW5i is certainly one of them. It looks great, is super easy too use and with a lithium battery it is quiet and very reliable. All this does not come cheap, but the frame is built to last and you should get a years and years of use making it a sound investment.

Owen's Rating - 9/10
