Virtual Open 2008 | Golfshake.com
As well as the televised open, there is another open starting this week - the golfshake virtual open ! For the next two weeks, you get the chance to climb the golfshake leaderboard. "But you already do a leaderboard" I hear you cry. Well this one is a little different, you have to have your round authenticated by one of your buddies, so make sure you play a round with someone from golfshake or get your mates to sign up to be in with the chance of winning a brand new Ping i-Series B60 putter - the top preforming players from the leaderboard will be entered into the draw - so you dont even have to be the best - just one of the best!
Further information on the Virtual Open rules and format can be found in the News section.
User guide can be found in the help section under score tracker for Help with the new Round Authentication .

Thanks Darren
David, my mother warned me about people like you....

Surely they should only be able to be authenticated by someone that played the same round?
Reply : Fri 18th Jul 2008 13:06
Perhaps Darren should have to personally attend every game just to make sure all is in order

Maybe i should authenticate the 74 i saw Simon O shoot on Tuesday evening but just think how annoyed will he be when i say i just dont remember it

I agree with Tim,
what if someone plays a casual 1 ball & shoots a VERY good score. How can someone authenticate it when they weren't there??
John.

oops, jumped in with both feet without reading Darren's post & the rules....DOH.

Tim, correct.
It's for fun and bragging rights but with any competition you have to have some controls in place if you are giving prizes away. So I/Luke will be doing some minor checking to ensure Chris and Dave don't authenticate each others rounds when they live 300 miles apart
Darren.
