Gir and Fir

Not to sure what these mean so will have ago ,Gir is this if on a par 3 you hit the green in one ,par 4 in two and par 5 in three shots ,Fir is this if you land on the fairway with your tee shot ,if this is so i will start to fill my scorecard to reflect this also add my putting scores.

GIR - Green in regulation FIR - fairway in regulation

So an FIR is if you hit the fairway off the tee

GIR on par 3 is on the green in 1 shot GIR on par 4 is on the green in 1 or 2 shots GIR on par 5 is on the green in 1, 2 or 3 shots GIR on par 6 is on the green in 1, 2,3 or 4 shots

Basically I usually have quite a lot of FIR and not nearly enough GIR.

Thanks guys just needed to be sure so that i could add to my scorecard , i to seem to have alot of FIR and not enough GIR
