What I have started doing recently is to make sure I do some stretching before I start swinging a golf club.

It only takes a minute to stretch so do it!

Then I swing the club slowly making certain I don't come over the top.

If I do this then I normally swing well for the remainder of the round.

It seems to work for me so give it a go.

no such thing as muscle memory.  It take practice and more practice to grain a swing in.  Here lies, the 10,000 hour rule.

What Is the 10000 Hour Rule? The 10000 Hour Rule is just that. This is the idea that it takes approximately 10000 hours of deliberate practice to master a skill.

For instance, it would take 10 years of practicing 3 hours a day to become a master in your subject. It would take approximately 5 years of full-time employment to become proficient in your field. Simply work out how many hours you have already achieved and calculate how far you need to go. You should be aiming for 10000 hours.

10000 hours is over 3000 rounds of golf. That is a lot of golf by anyones stretch of the imagination.

The equivalent of 50 years playing at an average of 60 rounds per year.

Biggest load of hogwash I have ever heard.

It took me less than 250 rounds of golf to achieve scratch and that was in about 18 months of intensive playing.

Spotted this from a search engine search in relation to Gladwell and Outliers and the 10000 rule!

We covered something around this, how far can you go and how quick using tech last year - http://www.golfshake.com/news/view/3257/Cyber_Golf_Monday.html
