What the club says: Inspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses; some of which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area. With challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.
Designed by Donald Steel & Co. the course opened in 2001 and in this short period has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and was a qualifying course for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield.

brilliant setup
would come back

Superb course in east lothian
Well worth a visit. Fantastic greens, very friendly course and not overcrowded

Decent course, not the best hospitality.
Enjoyed the golf, but would describe the welcome in the pro shop and in the bar/restaurant as abrupt. Being asked if we were members set the tone, as we were visitors we did feel second class. The course was in good condition and had some good holes, but as the land is shared with Kilspindie, would suggest you play there as it was way better.

Perfect conditions
In perfect conditions, weather wise, a decent score was down to the player.Course in tremendous condition, although if you went offline, the wispy grass punished you..
Thankfully this did not happen and completed round with same ball.

Worth visiting!
Nice course, well maintained. Perhaps a touch expensive, but restaurant very good as well. Watch you continue on the correct course after the 11th green.

Great start to our Edinburgh swing!
Start of 3 rounds on the coast and nice way to start, can imagine Craigielaw to be fearsome if the rough is left to grow thick. We all enjoyed our round and the impressive club house and views too.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 20.1)

(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 88 Handicap: 7.9)

On the coast
Very tricky course, in summer rough is a nightmare. In winter greens are hard to keep your ball on. Excellent views over the Forth

Very good course but..
Enjoyed a round, but held up by 7 visitors who were so slow. Took 5.5hours . Wish they noticed and said something to slow players..liked the course, great condition. Not didn’t feel much of links feeling but still great course. And the guy in pro shop was so friendly. Great driving range too.
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 80 Handicap: 7)

Great place to stay and play
Really good links course that could play really tricky with the wind. Looks relatively straightforward but does trick you up in places.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 11.6)

(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 81 Handicap: 7.8)

Great Golf Coast Course
Maybe a lesser known course than its neighbours like Loughness and Gullane but great course with lovely views over the Firth of Forth.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 18.2)

Great views
Tight, long and varied holes, greens excellent

Not worth the visit.
Fail to see the attraction, no definition to each hole, greens very good but the course is not worth a visit, I'll not be back - recommend going elsewhere.

Nice course
Nice Links type course with some long and challenging holes - particularly in the wind.(Round played: Aug 2016 - Score: 91 Handicap: 0)

Brilliant course
Not one flat green, massive and brilliant to putt on. Such a variety of holes, scenery outstanding. If possible play with a member or all local knowledge. Great challenge on a superb course. Highly recommended.
