What The Club Says

Lindfield Golf Course (formerly Paxhill Park) 6120 yards, Par 70, SSS 69 is a parkland course in the Sussex Weald founded in 1990 and designed by Patrick Tallack. The course tests and rewards skilled golfers yet still enables the enthusiastic amateur to enjoy a good game.

It presents well-drained fairways and greens and excellent year-round playing conditions maintained by quality staff. It is surrounded by sites of outstanding natural beauty and is bordered on its southerly side by the River Ouse. There are water hazards on the 5th, 13th, 14th and 18th. The finishing holes have every attribute: the 426 yard 14th is a character builder with a longish second shot to an elevated green with out of bounds on the right and the 407 yard 18th has a lake in front of the green.

Good value for money

The greens and fairways are in good condition. The semi-rough is cut and a fair challenge. My only critisism concerns the tees. Some of these are bare and ideally need taking out of action and some TLC.

Well worth a visit

Set in the Sussex countryside, this course is well worth a visit. Many of the fairways are tree lined, but are generous enough to cope with the odd wayward shot. The undergrowth below the trees has been chopped back so no long grass to search if you do stray. There are a variety of different holes, and we found that the hardness of the ground provided plenty of run (late May). The course was in good condition overall, and the clubhouse staff were friendly and welcoming.

Can imagine how wet this was

There a re signs of the wet winter everywhere. Tees are dust now, i.e. no grass and dried out. Greeen short and fairly pacey but also bumpy. Bunkers no sand or quite dead pan. Still, the trees have plenty of greeenery and so makes it awkward to "play through". Ball running on nicely on fairways but also through greens

Fairways and greens were in very good condition, would have been better if they didn't allow buggies at this time of year.

Surprised at condition of GC

In good nick. A few muddy spots but those in between fairways. Tees rotated nicely and fairways have plenty of grass and not too many worm casts. Greens on the slow side as sand has yet to fully disipate but the amount of pitch marks!!!!One green had 10 to do. Can't keep doing it for others.

Well worth a visit

An interesting inland course, with mainly generous fairways, many of which are tree lined. The scrub below the trees on most fairways has been cut back to ground level so all is not lost if you stray offline. A couple of the par threes are particularly challenging. Fairways and greens in good condition (July) but can become a bit soggy in winter conditions. No body of water to play over, but a few of the greens are protected by ditches so beware. No separate pro shop but a fine old clubhouse where you can sit outside and enjoy a drink on the patio and/or purchase some accessories, balls etc. Very friendly staff and food very good. All in all, a pleasurable environment.

Definitely worth a visit

An interesting course set in the Sussex countryside. A variety of holes, many tree lined, but generous fairways if you happen to stray of line a little. A couple of the par threes will test you. Greens in good condition and rolling well.
