It is not often I leave a bad review but, sorry, this is going to be one...
The greens are quite honestly the worse I have ever seen or had the misfortune to try and putt on. They are clearly still suffering from last year's wet weather but come on, every other course I have been to has sorted it out.
It is a shame as this is a fairly gentle course that I liked to come to occasionally for a cheap knock-around. I won't be back for a while.
I had the round for free (through points from teeofftimes) - good job, if I had paid I would have walked in after the first few holes and asked for my money back.
Shame, but I'm afraid I advise against.

Having rung prior to the round to be told the course was fine to play we set off to play.
Clubhouse is very poor with no real directions as to where to go upon entry, entered the club shop only to be re-directed to the bar to collect green receipt.
1st hole and 10th are very very close meaning tee shots are confusing with no great detail on the map.
Fairways were extremely wet but the greens were a joke with puddles rising under foot. Holes were filled with water, made collecting ball unpleasant.
Maybe due to the wet weather but the course wasn't very well maintained with lots of markings on the greens and fairways hard to distinguish from the rough.
No Bunkers were in play due to being replaced by deep water.
Access to holes were drenched and as other reviewers mentioned the layout is poor as well as the design with lots of back and forth holes making it quite boring especially if you have a good straight drive.
However almost all the holes are well labelled (minus a few). Wouldn't have played if we had known the condition of the course however after being told it was playable was quite a disappointment.
At £10 each a round (through tee times) wasn't the worst price in the world however glad we didn't pay full price as the course isn't the best on offer in the vicinity.
Wont be playing here again.

Not much changes at Lindfield GC. Greens were OK but tee boxes were untidy.
Fairways OK and overall just OK. Club was deserted when we showed up on a Saturday afternoon.
Maybe once the weather improves the course will dry out and the muddy patches will dissapear?

A bit wet!
The course is always pleasant but after winter rain the holes at the lower end were waterlogged. Quiet day so pleasant and with the winter rough cutback some areas were easier but the longer grass where waterlogged meant several balls lost in plain sight. All in all a nice day out.Reviewer Rating
