What the club says: Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, Los Olivos incorporates an abundance of trees to test the golfer. This fine track offers a different challenge to its sister course as it features narrow tree-lined fairways with smaller undulating greens. Well known for its great condition, this woodland layout compliments Los Lagos superbly well.
Los Lagos - With its 6,536 meters, this course is the larger of the two in Mijas Golf. Keeping the original design of Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course has been totally refurbished in 2012. Los Lagos is a course with soft slopes, wide fairways and few forest trees obstacles, but defended by many bunkers and not less than nine lakes, from which the course gets its name, eager to trap each and anyone's ball. The greens are large and flat with sensitive undulations and the wide tees can be accommodated to reduce or enlarge the difficulty to choice.

Most playable course in the area
We have played Lagos many times and it is always in great condition. It is very generous off the tee but with plenty of water around it is a challenge. It is also pretty long but doesn't play as such. A realy mix of playable holes mixed in with tough ones, notably the par 5 5th and par 3 8th. Definitely the most enjoyable place to play in the area and great value for money, particuarly the twilight rate.Reviewer Rating

Avoid Mijas Los Olivos
I like in Mijas and play Mijas Golf regularly however Los Olivos is in the worst condition I have EVER seen on any golf course anywhere in the world. There was literally NO grass on at least 4 of the greens and most of the others were unplayable also.
The bunkers were deep with mud and full of water and only the white tees were in use due to damage.

Most playable course in the Costa del Sol
I have played Los Lagos a number of times. It is a big, wide-open course that is great for holiday golf. As the name suggests, there is a lot of water but the fairways are wide, the rough is short and the green are big and fairly flat. The course conditions were excellent, greens were fast and fairways were pristine. It is surpirsingly scoreable for a long course and is probably our favourite course around Malaga.Reviewer Rating

Slightly easier than lagos
Great layout, with lots of unique holes. Plays quite short of the yellows, especially par 4's.Reviewer Rating

Great course to play on Holiday
Played with some new friends while out in Spain for the week. Very nice weather and believe we got a buggy included in the price which was a nice touch, not the norm in England.Enjoyed the course, not too long but some good standout holes. Would recommend and return.

Most playable course in the area, great greens
This was the third time I had played Mijas Lagos and it has got better every time. The club has clearly invested a lot of money on the course in recent years and it looks and plays exceptionally as a result. Lijas Lagos has very wide fairways and large greens. Yes there are a lot of lakes very much in play but as long as you stay away from them, you will have a great time on this golf course. It is laid out over fairly plat land with parallel fairways. The greens when we played, even at a twilight tee time, were very quick. It is exceptionally long even off the yellow tees, but the layout means you can whale away with the driver with little fear. The only thing we didn't like was that the bunkers did no contain enough sand and so were very, very firm, great for fairway bunkers but not for greenside shots. This is a minor complaint about an otherwise exceptional course.(Round played: Nov 2019 - Score: 73 Handicap: 3.9)
