What The Club Says
This superb course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and is of international repute. It is situated in the Sierra de Mijas with stunning views of the mountains and beyond. Alhaurin is a challenging track that features lush greens and fairways set amongst the pine trees. Good course management and accuracy is needed if you're to avoid the trees, bunkers and water features. The undulating course is as testing a walk as it is a golf challenge so you might need a buggy if you're to keep your concentration up through the closing holes.

Al haurin hidden gem
Alhaurin Golf course designed by the great seve ballasteros.A very tough course. Ruggid terrain on front 9 and beautiful open plain on the back 9. The course has likely been overlooked in past few years due to the development of la cala resort but when this course was designed it would have been one of the best in the area. The views are stunning and clubhouse is fantastic.

AVOID
Where do I start. We arrived for our 2pm tee time in plenty time(12 of us paid around 1kEuros to play here). Had a nice bite to eat pre round and a beer, went down to get buggies at 1:50....first group then teed off at 2:30 - the staff in the shop claimed no responsibility and that 'This happens at every golf course'. All of the buggies were on the course (despite their being around 14 sitting stationary at the first tee). Anyway, we put that behind us...first group tees off gets to first fairway....buggy dies of death. Again, just got on with it. The course itself is absolute carnage - there is no guidance on where to hit and every shot is blind. The par 3s are ludicrously short where you could probably use a putter off the tee. As we didn't tee off till 2:30 we only got to play 16 holes in the light again through no fault of our own. on the run to 18 another buggy died in basically pitch darkness. I'd avoid this place at all costs.Reviewer Rating

Course has improved - well worth a visit
I have played Alhaurin many times over the last 4 years when on holiday.Since my last visit a lot of trees, bushes and shrubbery have been cut back or removed making the course even more enjoyable.
The fairways are in very good condition as are the green which play very true - it's not the easiest course but a very enjoyable and rewarding course

Very hard first nine holes
The course looks great but the first nine holes are really difficult. Very easy to lose balls from what you think is a decent teeshot. I found it not to my liking, not just because I didn't play too well but I didn't like the fact that hitting a great tee shot I couldn't find my ball several times.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: )

Challenging Course
The club is now under new ownership and great efforts being made to restore good will. The Fairways are tight in places with good condition greens throughout. We were warned about previous thefts from buggies and therefore took additional care however other courses in Southern Spain are suffering similarly. The course professional ensured that the day went smoothly and enjoyably for all. I would recommend a visit to this course.Reviewer Rating

Great Course
Loved this course the second time we played. So many blind shots that you need to be very careful the first time you play.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 14.7)

a Fantastic course
A very tight and tricky course, you must think about the course layout and play the percentage shot. Do your self a favor and spend 5 euros on the par shot score saver.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 13.5)
