What the club says: Whetstone Golf Club is a picturesque parkland course set in the heart of the Midlands, known for its friendliness and hospitality. An 18 hole, par 70 course over 6182 yards, provides an enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities. With plenty of mature trees, and an ongoing planting programme, several water features and testing par 3's it demands accuracy rather than length.

Great club
Fairway good, all the greens have dried and cracked, then over watered, grass uneven.The worst greens I’ve played on in five years.
Having said that the club house food, drink and staff is possibly the best in the area. This has not changed in the last five years.
I can only conclude that with the hot weather this year they have lost the greens and are now fighting to bring them back.

First time at Whetstone
First time playing at whetstone, expecting terrible conditions based on previous weeks heavy rainfall but the course was well drained with no standing water, apart from in bunkers which were G.U.R.Generally a good course, layout is a little confusing with lack of next tee signage. Biggest problem was lots of leaf litter, making good shots difficult to find, even on fairways.

It's not a bad course to be fair
Has its tricky holes like a 170 yard par 3 with bunkers but overall a good day out

Very cheap for great course. For old folk like us the course is less than ?15.
That does not make it a poor course. There are some interesting and tricky holes to negotiate and the greens are in reasonable condition after all the wet weather. Only two temporary greens as well in February

Played this course a few times now, played matchplay this time so got a bit more aggressive and most holes but didn't help my score! For a course that seems at the time relatively easy I just can't seem to score well on it which is maybe its hidden charm or in my case frustration. It feels like it should be fairly simple and you should be walking off every hole with a chance of par but I always end up writing bogey and can never figure out how I have not scored better. The greens were very wooly and slow on this occasion due to being treated and waiting for rain to come and bed it in. The pro did apologise and explain that we just caught in on a bad day.

Great price for a Sunday
First visit here and we found it very enjoyable. Worth the half an hour drive from Coventry.?15 on a Sunday at 2pm is really good value.
The course itself is quite tight, lots of doglegs and bunkers.
Greens probably 7/10 abit patchy in places but we have noticed that at most courses since the lockdown.
One let down was a slow 4ball in front but it didn't ruin our day.
We will be back

Worth a visit
I’ve Only ever played this course in the winter as it’s so popular in the summer there’s never any availability for the group that I play with.Very damp cold condition and surface water on greens.

Lovely venue requires TLC
A lovely venue and interesting course spoilt by a lack of care. Greenside staff need to be more proactive especially with grass cuttings strewn everywhere. The course itself is very playable with good challenging holes. Clubhouse is a little tired and would benefit from an update as would the shop, which would serve a better purpose by having some stock in it. For all that said had a great day and the staff were helpful. The catering was very good.Reviewer Rating

This is a cheap course and you get what you pay for.It is very bad in winter and poor weather. Inconsistent greens full of pitch marks. Playing from mats that are all different and not aligned correctly. Lots of bare muddy lies.
Also the young staff in pros shop are rude and unfriendly particularly to visitors.

Not sure the pins have moved for weeks??
Terrible greens with worn areas and edges of slopes etc, pitch marks galore and not cut! More weeds than my garden lawn. Rough is pretty much glover #WeedsAgainYou get what you pay for and £14 I feel I overpaid ????
Soon as we played the first green, motivation was lost and maybe should have walked in.
