What the club says: Trethorne Golf Course creates unique challenges demanding the skills of power, placement and fine judgement upon the discerning golfer.
The 18 holes are in a pleasant parkland setting with good views of the Cornish country side and distant views of rural Cornwall, magnificent panoramic views overlooking Launceston's Farm lands .

Challenging course
First time I'd played the course and surprised by how tough it was to walk as lots of steep hills!Course also tough with undulating fairways and so accuracy is key. However, downhill holes were easier than their index as got lots of carry. Fairways in good condition with grass and not bare, greens a bit bare in places.

Do Play Here
Played at a charity event yesterday (Big Oggie Golf for Man Down), what a fabulous course and friendly people. Lots of changes in height, greens in excellent conditions. Some great holes, not really one that is a true "signature hole" (a great par 3 contender for it though), more of a course with 18 excellent holes.Reviewer Rating

Exellent course! Buggy strongly reccomended
Fantastic variety and great use of the contours of the land reminds me of St Mellion. If you haven't been here before a course guide would help as its easy to over shoot some doglegs and run out of fairway.I would also suggest a buggy if you are not goot with hills.... One member told me its a great course if you are part goat!!
I had a push cart and felt every step of the elevation changes which differ 62m from its lowest to higest points!
Would I play again? Absolutely, I loved it.

Testing but great fun
A testing course with many blind holes or big doglegsThis does mean for the big hitters driver is not an option.
There is also alot of changes in elevation that make you think about your club selection.
The green although recently treated were still very quick and true
We played twilight at 3:15 in July for just £15 each - BARGAIN
Course knowlwedge must be worth at least 8 or 9 shots

Just returned from Trethorne Hotel & Golf Club, which played host for the weekend to our Coukoo’s Golf Society.
The weather was sunny with a challenging wind.The course had suffered a little from the recent storm Eunice but considering the amount of wind and torrential rain it had received we felt lucky to have been able to play at all. The 16th was closed and only two holes had temporary greens.
As a 16 strong society we were treated to a fantastic winter deal which was backed up by accommodation and food choices that exceeded our expectations.
The staff were friendly with a “can do” attitude.
As the tour Captain, I received nothing but great feedback from the other group members.

Challenging course
A must play course.Need to be accurate on many drives.
excellent condition.
Its a tough walk even for the fittest, we played 3 rounds and used buggies on the 3rd round.

Beautiful course set in corniche countryside
Beautiful course set in corniche country side just outside Launceston.corse was I great condition green's were accepting but quick and rolled well. Stayed over in the accommodation food and hospitality were great. Weather held out too.Reviewer Rating

Take a buggy!
Loved this course but you might want a buggy!! Greens nice and fair, some tough holes, could do with more signage as we got lost a few times especially 17 to 18!! Oh and don't let the wife drive the buggy as they don't have seat belts or much to hold on to!!!Reviewer Rating

Disappointed
Arrived at course and only having a nusmver of holes open. Would have been nice to know this before or at least offered 50% refund seeming as the course was not playable.The hopes we did play, 10 to 15 and 7,8,9 were fun. Would like to revisit when/if the other holes open.

Well worth the visit
Play here years ago, fantastic course with a great layout.The greens and fairways are in good shape and will not disappoint
Staff friendly.
Food was good.
Overall well worth the money,
Handicap 15.

Great challenge
This course is well worth a visit. Its very challenging for any handicap. if you struggle on hills it might be worth renting a buggy. the course itself was in perfect condition, the greens make you think as they are very fast and not easy to read the line.The clubhouse food and accommodation are excellent. we will visit again.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 99 Handicap: 21.8)

Annual Visit
8th visit with average of 60 players. Its become a 2nd home as the staff are friendly, facilities good coupled with great food. The course is very well maintained & whilst not actually changing the layout, each year you can see the hard work. Enjoyable golf for all levels.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 88 Handicap: 12.3)

Challenging course but well worth the trip, some nice inviting holes. On peak days it can be a bit crowded so plan your booking wisely. Clubhouse decent, only let down I would say is the driving range facilities.
