What the club says: The course provides a good test of golf for golfers of all abilities. The tree lined fairways make accuracy from the tee important. We have two par 5's, the 11th and 18th holes, five tricky par 3's, and the remainder par 4's of varying lengths. Each hole has a character all of it's own, and the course offers spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Great course to play

Very nice course. Greens in good condition but the fairways a bit bare in places (like so many other courses at the moment). Tee boxes in good condition and the bunkers have sand (not gravel). Nicely laid out, with challenging fairways. An enjoyable course to play

Second time round here having last played it some years ago. When teeing off, could only remember the first hole but no others during the round. Course itself is deceptive in that there are significant elevation changes once you get to the 2nd hole which gives it considerable interest. Fairways were surprisingly lush given current dry spell which was a credit to the course. Greens were a little firm but were true when putting. Bunkers could do with a little more sand in places. Playing on a society day we had an excellent welcome from all concerned and everyone was keen to assist. Dinner was a curry which the club is known for which was a little slow in arriving due to how busy the kitchen was but tasty when it turned up. All in all, well worth a visit and will head back in due course.

Still improving. Still some bare pitches on & off the fairway but greens were optimum. Food afterwards was very good too.

Popular Spot

1st time back since a round over summer when it was very busy. It was colder & damper & wetter underfoot but if anything even busier. Plenty of 4 balls never letting the 2 balls through. It is a Great course with varied holes but One to avoid until summer I feel because there were strong signs of mud off the fairways already on worn paths from all the traffic. That said the greens played well & the fairways holding up well too. No real ales or craft beer in the pavilion either but the Indian food is excellent. Something to look forward to.

Very pleasant course in decent condition. Greens slow and bumpy, been lightly sanded one or two. There had been very heavy rain for several days. A fair test for all handicaps. 4 hours and 14 minutes for a tournament round more than acceptable. Not a long course,. Clubhouse very pleasant. Friendly bar staff, excellent kitchen offering various meals from Indn to meat and two veg and everything in-between. Pro shop reasonable well equipped and reasonably priced. All staff friendly and accommodating. Just greens slow. Tees acceptable. I would recommend and will definitely play again.

Course was vey soft and wet not great playing conditions but it’s also a very very hilly course so beware at this time of year as it’s carry only, otherwise it’s a very enjoyable track.

Top Condition

Course played superbly. Rapid greens, hard fairways. Very enjoyable. Post round meal very nice. The only blemish came when a member leaving the 1st green felt the need for an altercation claiming he’d not heard a cry of fore despite the ball landing nowhere near him nor the green. Suspect the hot weather had gotten to him.

Challenging & Superb Value

Was good to get back to Stanmore. Some may find it short but fully meets my needs. Excellent lay out, tough if not over fast greens, some narrowish fairways & plenty of hazards to negotiate. A couple of holes with great views across London. Lovely stuff

Great venue for excellent food and service

Hi, had a group of 18 visit Stanmore GC for a lunchtime bash, the service provided by head chef Gautham was above excellent. His team provided a very prompt response to our ever-changing additional food requirements, veg/non-veg/vegan etc, Gautham just cooks it as required. What is amazing is the portion size, really good value for money, he surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake too which was not planned. Thank you Gautham & team.

This is a challenging course with many tight starts to fairways. Also you have to ascend the same hill 7 times and descend. Well maintained but very muddy in winter as on London Clay. Friendly staff.

Hilly Billy

The problem with this course is that it involves climbing the highest point in Middlesex 7 times and therefore descending it 7 times which is agony on my arthritic knee. I prefer to play solo but 3&4 balls can be very slow. The course is well kept and some of the rough is playable with some trees.

Hilly and tight in places

First time on this course today. It was a hilly course with some tricky lies and narrow tees, a good challenge. I was a little wayward off the tee so didn't have many easy second shots but enjoyed the course. Will be back to give it another go now I know where I am heading.
Bar looked good but I was playing alone and needed to get back home. Looked like a good social club.
