What the club says: South Winchester is a links style course designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss. Although the course is set in 210 acres, the option of playing fewer than eighteen holes is always available as the Clubhouse is centrally situated near the ninth green and overlooking the eighteenth green. The course undulates between grassy slopes and beside six lakes offering easy walking and excellent views.

Nice course with lots of variety
Played in poor weather to start with but brightened up after 5 holes. Some lovely views. greens were good and consistent. tees were a little scruffy sometimes. Bar food was good, and so was the overall service.Reviewer Rating

A testing course in the wet
The course was in lovely condition and was a tough enough test for us high handicappers in very windy and sometimes wet conditions. Good layout and well maintained. Really enjoyed it.Reviewer Rating

First time round here. Excellent course in good condition. Interesting place to knock it round. Greens were good. Well looked after by the club on a large society day. Will play again in future.

Really well maintained course with excellent fairways and greens despite recent poor weather. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to book teetime of our choice. A medium difficulty course with plenty of space and variation

Great 2-ball on a lovely Tuesday afternoon. Still starting on the 10th, so back 9 first, when its dry, its dry, very good run on the fairway and the greens were excellent. Very enjoyable.

Nice modern course with some challenging holes, especially those into the wind. Greens in good condition for end of September, soft but rolling nice enough.
All staff very friendly. We were 8 green fees and everyone of the group said they would like to play the course again.

Splendid Location links feel
