What The Club Says
Over the years the courses at South Herts have benefited from the input of some famous names; Willie Park Jnr., Harry Vardon, James Braid, Dai Rees, and, more recently, former Ryder Cup Player Ken Brown.
The Vardon Course was originally laid out by twice Open winner Willie Park Junior, a pioneer of parkland courses at a time when most courses in the British Isles were seaside links. The Rees Course is a testing 1582 yard, par 28 course.

Enjoyable Course
Enjoyable layout. A lot of 400 yard plus par 4's.Fast greens with a lot of slopes making it very challenging.
Good condition considering how dry it has been.

The Vardon Grip
The course was in excellent condition greens tee boxes etc all well defined and manicured.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 86 Handicap: 12.5)

Great layoit
Fabulous local course which I had not played before. Great layout with scenic fairways and testing greens.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 91 Handicap: 14.8)

A great course fantastic undulating greens and plenty of trees to get around. the featur hole 18th over a lake with a water fountain must be one of the best finishing holes in the land.A bogey is very good on this hole

Good condition in January
Played on 5th January. The course has benefited from lack of rain in the last few weeks.The greens were very true and consistent. Only taking 27 putts could have influenced my opinion.
No temporary tees or greens which is pretty good for a course on a clay subsoil at this time of year.
