What the club says: Formed in 1877, Dornoch has now been a Royal club for over 100 years! It is not just the Championship course that presents golfers with the challenges of links-land. Our second 18 hole course the Struie is enjoyable and entertaining for the whole family at a modest green fee, and it can also test the lower handicap player.

one a sunny day, just awesome
this is a really nice links course to play, not the same league as its big brother, but it's challenging without being too difficult(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 74 Handicap: 3.3)

Fantastic!!!! Top Links Course

Not sure its worth the trek, very poor practice facilities

Absolutely wonderful course
This is a bucket lister....absolutely out of this world beautiful links. 5 stars from all of my fourball(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 18.2)

Best in the UK.
Royal Dornoch ( Championship Course ) is a Must Play if your a true golfer.

Classic traditional links course, which merits it's high ranking as one of the best in the UK. Great layout and variation of holes, which test every aspect of your game - especially in the wind! Course setting is impressive, and staff gave us a friendly welcome.

Amazing golf course with great views, a real test of golf even on a calm day.Well worth the lengthy travel to get there.(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 83 Handicap: 5.7)

(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 79 Handicap: )

(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.6)

Lovely course and clubhouse. Very windy when we played, with odd showers, which made the greens lightning fast but really enjoyable round. Would thoroughly recommend
(Round played: Nov 2016 - Score: 102 Handicap: 13.2)

(Round played: Oct 2016 - Score: 99 Handicap: 18)

Stunning, no other words, probably my favourite ever!
(Round played: Jun 2016 - Score: 86 Handicap: 12.3)

Too much public access all through course, not sure it's worth the 4 hour drive
(Round played: Aug 2015 - Score: 92 Handicap: 18.7)

Be warned however, it is a difficult course, especially when the wind blows, some of the rough is evil and there's plenty of gorse about to eat up those bad shots. If you're new to the game or a bit wayward, you could easily rack up a massive score and empty your bag of balls.
Although it shouldn't put you off from visiting, the clubhouse isn't great to be honest. It's not comparable with other top venues and although it's reasonably priced and the food is of a good standard, It's too small with too many tables squeezed in to the bar/restaurant. The service is friendly but it can be a little chaotic. When I was there the poor waitresses were running around all over the place and two of them fell over chairs, almost on to their faces. Also on one occasion they completely forgot about our starters and served mains only. There is also no outside seating area.
One other thing if your planning a visit to this area. There are so many good courses in this area, don't waste any time or money playing The Struie course, unless you've already exhausted Brora, Golspie,Tain, the 2 Nairn courses, Moray, Forres and probably a few more.
The Struie is very dissapointing, it probably has 3 or 4 good holes but a lot of them are up and down a flat field with very little definition. The greens aren't as good as The Championship course either.
You must play The Championship course though.

Wonderful golf course in superb condition. Not a bad hole on the course and spectacular scenery.
(Round played: Jul 2015 - Score: 79 Handicap: 5.2)

(Round played: May 2014 - Score: 82 Handicap: 10.9)

(Round played: May 2014 - Score: 79 Handicap: 9)
