What The Club Says
The Royal Burgess Golfing Society, founded in 1735, is the oldest golfing society in the world and one of only 10 “Royal” golf clubs in Scotland. While primarily a members’ club with a rich tradition, visitors and guests are made to feel very welcome.
Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, the golf course is just six miles from the city centre and easily accessible by road, rail or air. The mature parkland course was originally designed by Willie Park Jnr with subsequent improvements from Harry Colt and Philip Mackenzie Ross. The course is lovingly maintained by loyal and dedicated greenstaff and is recognised as one of best parkland courses in the country.

Super condition, with true but challenging greens
The course was a real challenge with a strong wind blowing and many bunkers and tree lined fairways. Anything wide was generally snookered behind a tree.Terrific condition of fairways and greens. The greens putted true and very subtle reads

A must play Scottish Parkland course!
A course steeped in tradition with the reputation for being quite stuffy. I didn't feel that at all and was warmly welcomed. The course layout and condition were first class. Bunkers well placed. Greens in first class condition. No bad holes at all. I'm struggling to think of a better parkland course in Scotland. Ok, it doesn't have the scenery you'll get at Gleneagles but you'll enjoy the course just as much. A must play.Reviewer Rating

Lovely setting
Good course overall, looks like it will be quite short when you look at the scorecard but watch out for the bunkers. They are everywhere ????.Reviewer Rating

First class course where everything was in top condition. Fairways are generous, rough is fair and the greens are true and smooth.
