What The Club Says

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland, was founded in 1780 as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815. Until 1888 members played on the Queen's Links close to the city before moving across the River Don to the links at Balgownie. The Course was originally designed by the Simpson Brothers, Archie and Robert of Carnoustie and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid. Hawtree & Company are now engaged as the Club's architects to ensure our classic links keeps pace with the modern game.

Great course to practice iron play and short game. Great condition. Provides a strong challenge in windy conditions.

An incredible course with the first 9 in amazing dunes and the back nine into the wind on a plateau. Simply a must play.

Top 20 Course in GB and I

Breathtaking front 9. Club has a fearsome reputation for its traditionalism. Do not let that put you off. They welcome visitors warmly. An ace on the 8th will inevitably lead me to suggesting it's the best par 3 in Scotland!

Historical links course

A wonderful links course with some very narrow fairways. The front nine is tough but the back nine is more gentle. The greens were good but not great. Lovely Clubhouse and a warm welcome. A course you need to play again to know your way around.

The third hole (par 3) needs a driver to reach the green if the wind is blowing like it was when I played. Beautiful course especially the front 9. First 4 holes are a killer though so don't get too dishearted if you have a bad start!
