Ok

Occasionally they let the grass grow on the fairways.

Lovely condition

Really impressed with the course today, only played once before and the weather conditions were terrible and never got to see the lovely views across Gloucester.

The course is fairly open consisting on several short par 4s (particularity the first part). This course has 4 nice Par 5 holes where birdies are also possible. However it also has the longest par 3 I've ever played at 241 yards off the yellow tees. As the name suggests it is on a hill and the course is laid out so you ascend and descend the hill multiple times, so take plenty of water. Greens are in lovely condition, they're very undulating with many of them designed like an upside-down bowl, so a poor chip or putt will be off the back.

The course could do with some more bins.

You wont forget this course

As the name suggests, the course is on a hill, it is approximately 100 foot, top to bottom making it a very interesting course you wont forget.
Very friendly

Rodway Hill Golf Club

Played in March, in a very poor condition, not mowed fairways were very long almost impossible to play from. A real shame Society played there last year and was a stand out course. Like many others seems the winter weather has put course preparation back and it showed.

Always a very good venue but on this occasion and I guess it was due to the recent rain we have had, the fairways were not in very good condition due to the cut

Reasonable course, few tweaks and it could be very nice

The fairway grass length were pretty long especially when the rough was kept at the same length, hardly noticeable difference between fairway and first cut. There aren't many obstacles, the course is pretty open so if you can keep it straight-ish you dont really have much in the way - no fairway bunkers or narrow fairways to contend with, and the greens rarely have a bunker or obstacle to contend with. Equally sparse trees so not too much to contend with if have gone wide of fairway and need to cut back across. Slow very slow golfers out there, if can get to play through them then course plays quick as not too long each hole. The signposting for every hole is very poor, there are times when there is no chance of knowing where you go next, and you are dependant on asking the regulars where to go next - this has NEVER happened on any other course, this one is bizarre in that the signage is all very very poor for a first time player to the course. In terms of facilities then there is a toilet but not exactly one you would relish returning to, complete with blinking light bulbs "which always do that" according to a regular. We didn't try the practice facilities or the clubhouse - everything has the feel of the golfing equivalent of "sunday league football" - it does the job but not exactly something you will rush back for.

Course in reasonable condition considering the weather. Wind had blown several flags out of the holes. Was open and all greens playable, when other local courses had closed.
