Great beginner course
I have played this course a number of times now whilst I am new to the sport. A great way to have a midweek 9 holes after work to practice out on the grass. I have only played during this summer, so the course has been in good condition, with no wet areas, but the greens really do struggle. Its difficult to gauge improvements to your score as a beginner when the putting is so difficult. For £6.50 a round though its great value as a practice course and it is a nice scenic course which is always quiet. It also has a small practice chipping and putting area to use before your round.Reviewer Rating

Pretty Nine hole course.
I enjoyed my visit to Pennington Golf Club this week. It is a pretty Nine hole course with something for everyone. Booking was easy and green fees are very good value. However the greens are pretty poor and some are awful.Reviewer Rating

Cheap & cheerful...
Nice layout with some good holes. Perfect for beginners or practice rounds.Greens are well maintained head round, however poor drainage on certain fairways causes problems in we weather. But value for money, it's always worth a round!

Course is OK. A couple of longer holes. 3rd Tee changed now from straight to a dogleg which is annoying. Fairway grass a little long with alot of daisies that makes it hard to find ball. I found 6 in 9 holes all in the fairway amidst daisies. Nice and cheap and much better than going to a driving range. Quite scenic and dry at this time of year. Get a Wigan Leisure card and have 9 holes for a fiver.

Great value for a beginner like myself. There are no club facilities and have only given fair because the service staff are always welcoming. There is a burger van on the car park that can offer tea coffee and soup to warm up after a cold round.
