At Last Some Investment
The course has sadly suffered from lack of investment since being taken over by Mack Golf. Finally though as the course was in a dire state, we have some improvement/investment.There has been a lot of effort by the green staff, greens have been worked on and they are starting to show real improvement. Tees have been cut and so have fairways. The is real improvement, the only complaints are fairways getting narrower and the rough although cut is a definite no no area.
I played Thursday 12th Oct and the course looked in better shape than it has been for many a year, all main greens.
Well done to the greens staff, for the effort they are making.

Would be fantastic however
The course was friendly and welcoming, a great challenge cardiac hill is probably the most challenging hole I've played due to me only just taking up the sport. Unfortunately there were far to many temp greens and those that were in play were in a bad way putting was near impossible I estimate I probably lost 8-12 shots purely because of the greens or lack there of putting on the fairway was an interesting thing to do, the bunkers were all out of play but nobody in our round hit one so that didn't affect us. For the money it's a great course and when the greens are sorted (there is work being done) I'll look forward to playing here again.(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 124 Handicap: )

simply dreadful!
shocking condition! greens unplayable! fairways uncut,tee offs 3 inches long. bunkers not raked and full of crap. really terrible. has now turned into the worst municipal in the midlands.Reviewer Rating

Awful
Newbold Comyn is by far the worst course I have played in 28 yearsThe course was scruffy, rough was pretty much unplayable, fairways not now recently and the greens were more brown than green
We were told that they had an irrigation problem however the problem is much more
Never again will I play there

Wonderful course, Interesting layout with amazing difference between front and back 9. Saw previous reviews about it\'s condition but found it to be excellent. Fairways really well cut, some greens are immaculate though a few need a little more attention but certainly not awful. Well worth a visit, I\'ll certainly be going again and again.

Course has a new head green keeper and boy can you see the difference! Great work,greens are a bit patchy but 100% better

Terrible course, fairways poorly cut. Rough is ridiculous long grass and the greens were in appalling condition. Do not play here. The Warwickshire course is 100% better

The fairways are like rough, the rough is a ball teleporter The yardage signs are vandalised and many flags are missing, some chucked into ponds, hedges etc.
The access to some tees is blocked by fallen trees. On our last visit we could not finish the 18th because some youths were hanging out in the middle of the fairway high on hallucinogenic drugs. I suspected this as one of them was trying to escape the demons! After we had a pint at the pub adjacent to the course an ambulance and police arrived. Its a shame because its in a lovely spot.

Really nice public course with great views across lemmington spa. One issue to mention was the condition of some of the greens could have been better.

All bunkers are ground under repair and have been for some time. not sure when they will be brought back. Ive played here often and it almost seems a battle to keep the course from being reclaimed by nature. Guys in the clubhouse always v helpful

Unfortunately on this occasion, the course was not up to the standard of last year.
The course fee was reduced because of this, need to get back to the high standards of previous year !

After waiting 10 minutes in the pro shop for the guy to finish his chipping practise ??? I was told the course needed cutting. No kidding !!! What a disgrace, actually lost balls in the fairway, the greens were awful, gave up after 9 holes. Such a shame used to be a good course.

I played here on Monday and although underfoot was pretty wet, I thought overall the course set up well and was in good condition. Will play here again.
** A big thank you to the club pro Jonathon Fleming who has been giving me short game lessons. It has really made a big difference to my game and I'm feeling a lot more confident !???? I highly recommend him.

Course is in amazing condition and hardly anyone playing it at all, anyone that has played the course will know its a proper challenge for any standard of golfer but if you break the hundred you should be happy. From tee to green can have no complaints at all and for the price (under £19 for Sunday morning) its fantastic value.
