What the club says: Golf has been played on our downland course since 1896. Excellent drainage and professional maintenance guarantee play all year round, always on the main greens, and usually on grass tees.
The elevated location of the course provides panoramic views of the Sussex countryside in all compass directions. The challenge presented by the 6224 yard course is enhanced by undulating fairways and greens and by the elements. Members and visitors have access to a five-bay driving range and practice chipping and putting greens.

This downland course is such a good test of your golf game, not prticularly long but shot placement is so important. Do you go for the green or drop it short and let it run on? The greens are excellent and always faster than you think! Fantastic views and good food and drink in the clubhouse make this a must play course if you are in the area. - Apr 17 2011

Golf Course Reviews for Lewes Golf Club
Decided to visit Lewes as had heard it drains very well in wet weather and have been frustrated by other courses understandably being quite ready after all the wet weather. We were so impressed. The course was in great condition, with firm greens that were fun and challenging! If you like your golf with stunning views and thought provoking greens this is the place. We will be back soon!
Only gripe was that the club house was closed when we had finished at 8pm on a hot sunny day!
Excellent elevated course on the Sussex downs. Playable all year round. The weather makes a difference here due to its elevated position and can change your round in an instance.

Terrible weather wetter than an otters pocket so did not see course in its best light however in great condition with some great holes, will return in sunnier times as would like to give it another go.

(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 94 Handicap: 13.6)
Played as a Society on Sunday - keeping in mind the Course was shut just a week ago with heavy snowfall, the course was in great condition and the green in excellent condition.
A good challenge for all handicaps
