What the club says: Golf has been played on our downland course since 1896. Excellent drainage and professional maintenance guarantee play all year round, always on the main greens, and usually on grass tees.
The elevated location of the course provides panoramic views of the Sussex countryside in all compass directions. The challenge presented by the 6224 yard course is enhanced by undulating fairways and greens and by the elements. Members and visitors have access to a five-bay driving range and practice chipping and putting greens.

Worth a visit - one of the best around
Excellent course, a little bit of a strange layout which might put me off playing on a busy day as a lot of crisscrossing. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Course in immaculate condition despite the rain on the day and week before. Would play again in a mid-week or off peak time. One of the best courses around with stunning views!Reviewer Rating

Tricky
An undulating course with small greens and outstanding views. The wind will always be a factor here.Reviewer Rating

Lovely views, tough course first time
Classic links golf; strong winds as one is very high on the South Downs. Course felt good throughout; greens were true and neither quick nor slow. A couple of blind shots but nothing to stop one playing. I loved it - would like to play here again. Wouldn't fancy it in bad weather as very exposed.Reviewer Rating

Full of character
It's not for the beginner. It's views are amazing and the course is full of character, some real challenging holes, the 18th being one of many.Highly recommend playing it if you haven't played there before.
Greens in good condition but tees were in a bad state.

Awesome
This is a great course, with some of the best views in England. The greens are great, a real challenge. It's not the longest course, but is a test, with sloping fairways.Reviewer Rating

Nicely tuck away above Lewes
Interesting layout above Lewes. Not the easiest to find or arrive at. Very warm welcome from pro and very informative. Course itself as this was my first visit difficult to gage. The greens were fast and undulating and in very good condition. The tees were well rotated and seeding provided at all par 3's. As there are plenty of public footpath need to be vigilent of walkers coming around the corner. Fairways not the best but considering the chalk features not too bad. A bit scraped up in places. Will definitely play again...oh and not for the feint hearted. Plenty of slopes and borrows to deal with.Reviewer Rating
