What the club says: Old Course (Lahinch Golf Club)
The main championship links at Lahinch is justifiably proud of the reputation it has gathered as a stern challenge to even the most gifted of golfers. The notorious Klondyke par five 5th hole forces the golfer to play over an intimidating dune wall to a 'blind' green.

Castle Course (Lahinch Golf Club)
A slightly easier test than the Old Course but it still represents its own challenge. The course features an array of cleverly positioned bunkers and numerous water hazards to swallow up any stray shots. It is an entertaining round that all handicappers will enjoy.

18 holes. Par 70. 5653 yards. Links.

Simply outstanding

Wow - not sure I have the superlatives to explain how much I enjoyed this place. Played early, with a member and the place was immaculate and stunningly beautiful. Golf simply doesn’t get any better.

Brilliant course, play it every year

Challenging links course with amazing scenery. It's important to hit the fairway and hit low if the wind is strong

Links at its toughest

Lahinch is a tough zchallenge where length in your drives is crucial and penal if you do not reach the 200 yard carry to make the fairway. This is no problem on a calm day or with the wind on your back but our experience was that the wind turned after about nine and we seemed to be into the wind for most of the round (of course if younare playing poorly you need some excuse). Condition of fairways and grass paths is superb and the money spent here in recent years is clearly evident for all to see.

Incredible golf course. Brutal but brilliant. Wish I'd booked a caddie though because there are an awful lot of blind shots. Doubt there is a better links course in the world (I've played a fair few).

A fantastic course that is a joy to play. There are long carries off the tee boxes but the run on the fairways is encouraging.....the secret is to hit the fairways. The bunkers are challenging! If one ever gets the chance to play......take it.

Well maintained and fair greens. Flat and short which explains the low (ish) round.

Played both the Old Course and the Castle course.
Old Course - what a course - a tough test of golf and stamina (hilly). Some fantastic holes in fabulous condition. I definitely want to come back and play it again.
Castle Course - A gentle relief after the Old course. Shorter, less hilly and less demanding but still very good quality greens and not to be taken lightly.

The club house, facilities and staff were the best, friendliest, most helpful of anywhere I have ever played. Fantastic facilities and people. I will hopefully get the chance to visit again.

Classic links with some quirky old holes, including several blind shots. Really tough, especially if the wind blows. They've put the green fees down recently, making it much better value.

Great course, very tough however, over-priced probably due to the Americans who pay through the nose for the top courses in Ireland.
