What The Club Says

This 18 hole pay and play course, which opened in 1992 was originally designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark. The 5,530 yards of golf course provides challenges all the way through the 18 holes you play. Several lakes provide plenty of interest along the way and the well placed bunkers catch the errant shots that all golfers commit at times!

The course is playing well. The greens are quite firm, but fairly true.

Went as part of a group of approx 25 players and made very welcome, Bacon Baps were very nice and when we teed off the course had recently switched around with the First Nine now the back 9 and vice versa. The course was in good shape and the pace of play was good with few hold ups. The one course meal afterwards was excellent. Staff and Service were as usual very good. Well worth a visit.

The venue host a restaurant, pro shop, virtual training, changing rooms, shower/toilets and a host of professionals to support you when visiting. There is a large carpark with direct access to the shop, where you Check-in and the course. There's a large practice putting area and nets to warm up. An air compressor to clean off gear too.
Staff are welcoming and helpful too.
The course is a par 70 and can be played all year round. The course is well kept with a variety of improvements being made currently (Feb 2026) to the paths amd greens.
Despite this being a par 70, it still provides a variety of opportunities to practice all areas of your golf as you go round. Prices compared to others in the area are good, with a varied price depending on tame of day and season.

Great winter course

Great winter course. Really liked the greens, a little water in bunkers but generally course dry considering all the rain of late. Liked it so much I signed up as a member.

Always a pleasant day.

Have been playing Hurtmore for a few years now usually once or twice a year.
As usual pro shop staff excellent, along with the club house staff.
There is always work going on. Which meant the 17th on this round was a par 3 off a mat, rather than a par 4.
They have to do the work sometime!
Greens as usual cut close and very quick for October!
Bunkers in good nick with a good amount of quality sand so you had confidence in your bunker play. Was in a few!
As other reviewers have said very convenient, just off the A3. Plenty of car parking, it was however midweek.
However they have invested in some new buggies. Although it is a good walking course invest in one of these buggies. Horn, indicators, lights and an electronic display. More gadgets than you get on a modern car!!!
Made my day!!! Shame it did not have a GPS. Well it might have done but I did not find it amongst all the other stuff!!!

Course in excellent condition

In spite of the weather this year, Hurtmore continues to offer a very good course albeit not the longest. Continually improvements are being made to tee boxes fairways and paths. Clubhouse is very friendly with always a parking space to be found, sometimes after a small search

A short drive past Guildford on the A3 from London. If you time it right you can avoid traffic. A very rewarding shortish course suitable for all handicaps. It can be as challenging as you make it with a couple of water carries. Only one long par 5. Good clubhouse and friendly staff.
