What the club says: Established in 1912, Heaton Park Golf Course is located within the scenic grounds of Heaton Park, Manchester. The 18 hole par 70 course, voted the best municipal course in Great Britain in 2005 was designed by 5 times Open Champion, John Henry Taylor and is 5,755 yards in length. This parkland course offers spectacular views across to the Pennines and surrounding countryside. The signature 11th hole is played across water and former Open Champion, Henry Cotton once described the long par-3 hole as “the toughest par-3 in England”. Open daily, we welcome all standards of golfers, from juniors and novices to the more senior and advanced golfer, we can also cater for golf societies.
The Clubhouse is open daily from 8am and we welcome golfers and non-golfers to enjoy the food and beverage on offer. We have all Sky Sports and BT Sports channels and there is a function room available to hire for private parties and funerals.

Mr williams
Course in good condition they have trimmed lots of rough down 15th hole still not playing as it should be they been waiting to repair a footpath from tee to fairway so hole has been considerably reduced in yardage such a good hole wich means you have to play the 14th as the 18th which is a good distance from the original 18th green hopefully gets resolved soon other than that great courseReviewer Rating

Course very long, hilly and very challenging. Paid to park my car but still got a parking ticket £25 for being slightly out of a bay, due to the car parked next to me being right on the edge of his bay. What a joke, won’t be returning here !Reviewer Rating

A very tough challenge...lots of blind tee shots due to the hilly course. hole 11 is fantastic and 13 is a drivable par 4 downhill.Reviewer Rating

Great Value
An interesting and well kept course, in a beautiful setting with great views.Although the course is relatively short, the layout makes for challenging holes. Great approach shots into the greens. Probably the best ?14 you'll spend on golf!!

Excellent layout
Similar to what I said in April.A fantastically laid out course, uses the contours brilliantly, just a shame it needs a bit of TLC.
It's a fantastic walk, with quite a few challenging hills, great views across Manchester & the penines.
It just needs a bit of care, I know they can't help kids going on the course on motorbikes, but looking past that there are some scruffy places & the greens aren't the best.
This layout, in great condition, would challenge most of the great parkland golf courses that I've played.
It's definitely worth a visit.

Challenge
Very undulating course with 3 Valley of doom drives. Really enjoyed. Fairways are great, greens are well drained but slow, never had a slow game at this course as its usually well spaced out. Views are great across the course, loads of wildlifeReviewer Rating

Hardest hole SI 1 (15) made too difficult in my view with hard short cut fairway and by cutting the fringe too severely so unless you hit a great drive you are left with a must hit second shot of say 200+ yds to a tight angled green , anything short rolls to be lost in the OOB right. Many played it as a par 5 laying up short of a slope on the fairway or into the fringe left of the fairway which would hold or slow the ball sufficiently to stop it rolling down the slope into OOB, sadly this is not a current option. Suggested a build up on the right or a low board/ kerb barrier to prevent the ball rolling OOB. It is only early season and there has been little rain recently so despite the above the course is good value for money and recommended but beware it's extremely arduous - very hilly.

A Walk n a Half
Really enjoyedI haven’t played on a hilly course for a while, but this course made up for that.
Plenty of blind shot holes, shots from uphill/downhill/side hill lies, great variation..
Tee boxes, bunkers not in great condition, greens a bit slow, but time of year n rain, contributed to that.
Fairways were ok..
Very picturesque, a great walk (not easy), I’m not the longest of hitters, but I’m sure lower handicappers, would find easier.
For £12.50, great value.
Staff friendly n helpful..
Well worth playing ????
